Moving Toward OXN

I've taken up some responsibilities for the Oracle PartnerNetwork web site in addition to my regular OTN duties. What does that mean? Ideally, that Oracle partners will get a special tour of the copious development resources available to them on OTN, and that developers who are OTN "actives" (a couple million of them, by our count) will have better exposure to exclusive content opportunities through partner programs and initiatives.

For example, Oracle's SOA Initiative offers access to field training and technical support, business development assistance, in-person events, and other goodies. Until now these resources have not been widely publicized on OTN.

And on the OPN side, we'll be creating private Discussion Forums so that partners can network with each other in an interactive way. Again, this functionality has not been available previously. It's all good!

Comments:

Justin, it would be great to find some pre-release documents and software, along with tighter access to Oracle developers and tech assistance at new OPN. Some special news about planning releases and new features would also be great. Wold it be possible to integrate OPN and MetaLink some day one the same portal? Thanks.

Adding new value for partner-developers is one of our main goals, for sure. As for OPN-Metalink integration: I don't see that happening.
