Grass-Roots Demos

We're seeing a few Oracle ACEs begin to take advantage of Qarbon's ViewletCam tool, which allows you to capture full-motion swf demos and then add an audio track on top of it. The end result is a sort of hybrid between a demo and a blog entry -- or I guess you could call it a targeted, "grass-roots" demo.

This is an awesome tool (and only about $150) that we're recommending to the rest of the OTN community. (Tom Kyte recently blogged about this in fact -- check out the comments.)

See some examples of ViewletCam in action from Steve Muench and Tom Kyte.

Comments:

Justin, this tool is in our corporate software package (however, not installed by default). Or would it be only for support engineers ? Regards, Didier.

Didier, I think the corp license is for ViewletBuilder, not ViewletCam (unless the latter is bundled with the former?), which doesn't support "full motion" capture. I would highly recommend V-Cam for support engineers, or for any shmo who wants to demo their favorite technique.

Oh I see - It's indeed ViewletBuilder, not ViewletCam, and no - they are not bundled together. I had it installed on my machine probably for a test we made in Support for publishing our content through MetaLink. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for the clarification :)
