Downloads Infrastructure Changes

On October 21, we upgraded the OTN Software Download service, download.oracle.com, and moved it to a new CDN infrastructure to:
- improve end-user download speed,
- provide greater uptime,
- give us greater capacity to merge the Oracle and Sun infrastructures.
For most people, this move was transparent and the service continues to work as download.oracle.com.
Within the next week, we will be shutting down the old CDN infrastructure.
We've observed that a limited number of users are continuing to connect to the IP Addresses of the older CDN infrastructure. This happens when the DNS Infrastructure of a company, or country, "caches" older IP Address information.
We'll post again when we've shutdown the older CDN infrastructure. If you have a problem at that time, you may want to contact your local DNS Administrator to have them refresh the entries for:
