Looking for a good C programmer

Hi All,

So I'm going to tell you a secret, I'm not very good at C programming :-)

I'm trying to get the Ubuntu evtouch touchscreen driver and calibration utility to build and run on B134.

Does anyone want to volunteer to take a look at the problem ?

I can post the source code on my FTP site, or give ssh access to the multi touch netbook.

Let me know if anyone wants to take a shot at it.

Thanks

  Dave

Request for mapi in Evolution on B132

Hi All,

So what I thought should be easy is not, looking at the issue of mapi support in Evolution on B132.

I need to build evolution-mapi, openchange and samba 4, that's what I know so far.

So I'll keep going on another system, not the C90S laptop my primary.

Something I can afford to have to reinstall :-)

Preparing for 802.11n networking

Hi All,

So I've upgraded all my lab wireless network gateways to Netgear with 802.11n capabilities.

As we are getting closer to having 802.11n for OpenSolaris I wanted to get the MSI Wind and AA1 10" ready for testing.

I had been using a USB and Mini PCI-E TP-Link hardware to get to 300 Mbps, not sure we will ever get a driver for OpenSolaris here.

I jumped on Ebay and got a couple of AR5008E-3NX Atheros Mini PCI-E cards for $29.99 each, free shipping from China.

It took a while but I finally found the Atheros WiFi client and driver for Windows XP.

Look for this zip file :

STA7.6.1.221_RNWF7.6.1.204_APPS7.0.2.70_APPSV1.0.0.137_INSTALL7.6.0.83bin.zip

The standard Windows XP driver does not let you go above 54Mbps.

In the client you can select to turn of 11Mbps and 54Mbps, now the AA1 10" and MSI connect to the 2.4Ghz at 300Mbps.

Now when we get to have 802.11n support for the ATH driver on OpenSolaris I already know the high speed internal card and gateway work.

Quick Lounge fixed for separate x screen Nvidia

Hi All,

This fix is only for Nvidia graphics system with separate  X screens configured.

Anyone who is running separate X screens on Nvidia and likes to run quick lounge in the gnome panel,  Paolo Bacchilega in Italy just sent me a fixed source version and it now works correctly.

If you start up a program from screen 2 quick lounge it comes up on screen 2.

Thanks Paolo :-)

You can get the 2.14.1 source from git clone git://git.gnome.org/quick-lounge-applet

Do a mkdir m4 in the quick-lounge-applet directory

then ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr --disable-static --localstatedir=/var/lib

gmake

gmake install

pkill quick-lounge

pkill gnome-panel

Configuration file fixes for OpenSolaris B110 +

Hi All,

I've upload the xorg.conf that works on the AA1, MSI, AA1-10 and Sumsung Q1 UMPC that allows compiz to work on the first login, note you cannot logoff and login, compiz hangs

The Samsung Q1 UMPC is actually running compiz really well, I've built xvkbd, I can now type with a stylus instead of keyboard, now I just need to get it to 800x600, the stylus is off by a few pixels.

It also is having no issues with suspend/resume

The system file works with the power.conf to keep the processor down to 800Mhz.

I've uploaded the drm patch to allow for resume if compiz is running.

  gtar xvfj drm.tar.bz2

  cd drm

./cpin-i95.sh drm-suspend /kernel

New B110 + files

  /etc/X11/xorg.conf here

  /etc/system here

 /etc/power.conf here

drm.tar.bz2 here

OpenSolaris SDCard driver for Acer Aspire One - here

Hi All,

Here is the Alpha Release tar file for the SDCard driver for OS .

tar xvf SUNWsdcard.tar

pkgadd -d .

init 6

Now you should be able to insert sdcards in either slot.

Have fun
