OpenSolaris B130 suspend / resume AA1 10" and MSI U100

Hi All,

Happy New Year

I just did a clean install of B130 on the AA1 10" and and image-update to B130 on the MSI U100.

Everything works fine accept for the video on resume and ssh will not let me login as root, I need to go through the regular user first.

I'm working with engineering to see if we can fix the video issue, the systems are still live, the video trashed. I'll keep you all posted.

BTW I'm testing the VIA Nano based Samsung NC20, it's a really cool little netbook, I'm working on Ubuntu 8.04 currently for another project, once that's done, I'll fire up OpenSolaris see how it works with the OpenChrome driver.

I do like the full size keyboard and 12.1" screen (1280 x800), it's really thin and not very heavy at all.

Hi Dave,

I have to say this, These constant regressions have to stop!
Didn't this work fine before?

Regards,
Edward.

Development builds, got to love em :-)

They really are doing there best to get everything done for March 2010.

I have all the test systems, so it's really my fault for taking Xmas off.

Hi Dave,

I realize these are development releases, however it seems apparent that the integration process needs to be revised with better testing at the very least.
Stuff like this could have been easily avoided before the put-back took place, and I have to say its started to wind me up recently with just the pure number of random regressions, this is not Linux after all..

All and all, what I am saying is that integrators need to be a bit more careful.

Cheers for your reply btw,
Edward.

Hey Dave, what NIC chipset do you have on your AA1? Mine is Atlansic Technology Corp. Atheros AR8132 / L1c Gigabit (at least that's what the device driver utility reports)

Isn't root on Opensolaris configured as type=role on "/etc/user_attr" by default? when configured as \*role\* I think you can't "ssh" as root even with "PermitRootLogin = yes" on "/etc/ssh/sshd_config".

Best Regards,
Carlos Almeida.
