How to configure and run Solaris X86 and OpenSolaris on the latest platforms

Hi All,

For the last year I've been focused on building the Bluewonder Industrial Automation system with a hardware partner in Taiwan.

I work for the Sun OEM Software Group, focused on Solaris X86 and OpenSolaris.

In my spare time I hack on the Gnome desktop learning how all the programs and configurations work, so I can help my OEM customers.

This has kept me busy for the last seven years as each new release of Gnome is like a "who done it" novel, everything keeps moving around as each of the groups associated with the desktop change and improve the usability.

By popular request my next blog will be about making OpenSolaris work on the Acer Aspire One with the Intel Atom chipset.

Stay tuned Dave
