Funny with Lenovo s10 3t

Hi All,

So this is the first time this has happened, I did my normal trick of changing out the Broadcom wifi in the Lenovo S10 3t with my favorite Atheros 802.11 mini pci-e card.

When I tried to reboot after the install, the BIOS said it had the incorrect card instaled and it should be removed, the netbook would not boot at all.

This could be a little problem if the original Broadcom Mini wifi pci-e card was not available.

Dave

Comments:

same thing happens on the compaq mini 110c (same netbook as the hp mini 110)

I've read on some forums that people hack the BIOS to accept a range of other cards, tricking it to think that they are "whitelisted"

ymmv

(best thing would be if broadcom would provide the damn specs to make a driver :(
