Funny with Lenovo s10 3t

Hi All,

So this is the first time this has happened, I did my normal trick of changing out the Broadcom wifi in the Lenovo S10 3t with my favorite Atheros 802.11 mini pci-e card.

When I tried to reboot after the install, the BIOS said it had the incorrect card instaled and it should be removed, the netbook would not boot at all.

This could be a little problem if the original Broadcom Mini wifi pci-e card was not available.

Looking for a good C programmer

Hi All,

So I'm going to tell you a secret, I'm not very good at C programming :-)

I'm trying to get the Ubuntu evtouch touchscreen driver and calibration utility to build and run on B134.

Does anyone want to volunteer to take a look at the problem ?

I can post the source code on my FTP site, or give ssh access to the multi touch netbook.

Let me know if anyone wants to take a shot at it.

Thanks

  Dave

BenQ S6 4.8" MID

Hi All,

Never delete your Window XP install if you do not have an ethernet card in the system, I did and it's pain full :-)

I was testing Red Flag, Moblin MID and Ubuntu MID on the BenQ S6 4.8" MID.

When I went back to reinstall Windows XP, you cannot get past the activate Windows screen if you do not have an ethernet card in the system.

Even when you go to activate via phone, the area for the activation key is blank, Windows uses the MAC address of the ethernet card in it's calculations.

I finally made it take an activation (no explained here) and it's running again.

I have to say the choices made by Intel and Ubuntu teams on how to deal with a small screen size are amazing, I'm very impressed.

I urge you to look at the Moblin MID, Ubuntu Mid and Red Flag sites.

BenQ S6 MID and 10 " Multi Touch

Hi All,

So I've been having some fun this week with a BenQ S6 4.8" MID, it's kind of cute, it's running Windows XP, I'll keep this one here until I get the 3G mini PCI-E modem installed, then I'm going to try a couple of Linux versions and off course OpenSolaris.

Not sure how OS will deal with the touchscreen, I already know how to build the onscreen keyboard for X.

Next week I hope to take delivery of a 10" multi touch touchscreen netbook, direct from manufacturer in China.

If it looks like it really is as advertised I'll let you guys know where I got it. Getting multi touch working on Xorg should be a interesting project, plus the touchscreen mouse and onscreen keyboard.

It's got a 300Gb HD, so I should be able to get Windows 7, Ubuntu and OpenSolaris installed without any problems.

Have a great weekend

Dave
