What is Siebel Open UI?
Siebel Open UI is Oracle's next-generation browser client for Siebel desktop and mobile applications.
It uses the same back-end architecture as the traditional user interface (UI), but changes the way the user interface (UI) is rendered.
It's a new approach to the graphical user interface (GUI) that helps you transform the look and feel of your current application to fit your interface requirements.
There are many customizations and modifications that will benefit both your internal and external audiences. For example, Siebel Open UI can reference a third-party resource, incorporate it with Siebel CRM data, and then display this data in the client.
This is but one example of the many useful aspects of Siebel Open UI.
The Siebel Open UI can co-exist with former, traditional Siebel clients, allowing customers to run both as needed.
The Siebel Open UI:
• Uses open, web standards to render the application.
• Is downloaded to the client as needed to render the page/view.
• Does not use ActiveX.
• Does not require Internet Explorer (IE).
• Runs on any standards-compliant platform.
There are many benefits to using the Open UI interface, including native browser support, mobile device support, enhanced user experience and a large community of developer resources.
If you're new to Siebel Open UI, we recommend enrolling in the following training to help you understand the architecture. You'll also get the hands-on experience you need to address common customization requirements.
