What’s the news?

In line with our vision to eliminate friction in configuring and using Oracle Guided Learning (OGL) in cloud applications, OGL will be embedded in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Cloud as part of release 24.08.

This change allows EPM clients the ability to apply in-application guidance, communications, validation techniques and self-service support (via Oracle Guided Learning) to help their users maximise productivity and satisfaction in EPM.

For EPM relases prior to 24.08, integrating Oracle Guided Learning involved using a browser extension. With the upcoming release, OGL JavaScript is part of the native EPM applications**, allowing a seamless and integrated configuration, user experience and improved responsiveness (of OGL).

**PBCS, EPBCS, EPCM, TRCS, FCCS, SWP, SalesCS, Free Form, PCMCS, ARCS, NR (or EPRCS)

Why does it matter?

Moving to the EPM Embed is of great significance, as it helps create a tightly integrated solution, potentially better performance, and a more seamless user experience within EPM. With the Embed solution, deeper customization options tailored specifically to the EPM environments are now possible.

How will our customers benefit?

EPM Embed is a fully embedded solution, integrating OGL within EPM. This allows OGL to work across all standard browsers supported by Oracle Applications. EPM Embed eliminates the difficulties and challenges in administering the extension installation across the organization, in setting up, configuration, changes, maintenance, and importantly, managing security vulnerabilities.

EPM Embed brings in the benefit of using one of the core OGL functionalities, auto-segmentation. With auto-segmentation, users will now be able to launch OGL process guides on their existing EPM application page without the need to start from the home page.

For EPM clients, not using Oracle Guided Learning to date, all future configurations will be made within the EPM Application Console.

What actions do they need to take?

We have a webinar for our clients to learn and partake scheduled for August 7th on Cloud Customer Connect. Please do register and/or watch our on-demand version.

This webinar will detail the steps existing clients can take to amend their configuration for OGL from their browser extension to an embed setting. This is an important step for all existing clients to ensure there is no duplication or disruption for your OGL experience.

There will be documented guidance available in our OGL User Guide, the EPM Docs.oracle.com and your OGL Delivery, Support Manager has details to be able to assist you transition across.

For clients using EPM Cloud, not using Oracle Guided Learning, you will need to contact a member of our sales team for an Oracle Guided Learning Premium licence at this stage of time. Please visit our website for more details and reach out to your Oracle Customer Success Services/Applications and or Customer Success Manager for assistance.
