Acquire Foundational AI Skills

Since the launch of OCI AI Foundations Certification in September 2023, over 50,000 individuals have been certified in OCI AI Foundations! This course provides a comprehensive understanding of AI, machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI technologies. It also covers the entire OCI AI stack, including AI infrastructure and services such as OCI Data Science, Language, Vision, Speech, and Document Understanding.

If you're starting from scratch, we recommend beginning with the OCI AI Foundations course and certification. However, if you possess some familiarity with machine learning and deep learning concepts and are proficient in Python, you can dive straight into the OCI Generative AI Professional course.

Upon completing the OCI Generative AI course, you will:

  • Gain a solid understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs)

  • Build a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) based chatbot using OCI Generative AI service

 

Let's delve into the course details:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Large Language Models

This module serves as a technical primer on Large Language Models (LLMs). Topics covered include LLM fundamentals, LLM architectures, prompting and prompt engineering (including issues such as prompt injection), fine-tuning techniques and decoding strategies. We also explore groundedness and attributability as methods to prevent LLMs from hallucinating. Additionally, we touch upon code models, multimodal LLMs, and language agents.
This module provides a robust foundation for understanding Large Language Models, with no specific prerequisites or familiarity with LLMs.

Module 2: Using OCI Generative AI Service

OCI Generative AI is a fully managed service that seamlessly integrates LLMs into various enterprise applications. Module 2 delves into this service, covering pretrained foundational models such as Generation, Summarization, and Embedding. We also explore flexible Fine-tuning, Inference, Dedicated AI Clusters (including sizing and pricing), and the security architecture of the OCI Generative AI service. Throughout this module, we provide demonstrations to illustrate the service in action.
Upon completion of this module, you will be proficient in utilizing OCI Generative AI service.

Modules 3 and 4: Building an LLM Application using OCI Generative AI Service

In these modules, we construct a conversational chatbot using OCI Generative AI service. First, we review several LLM building block technologies, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector Database and Semantic Search. Then, we dive-deep into the LangChain framework, including Prompts, Models and Chains. Next, we add memory to make our chatbot conversational and implement RAG with LangChain. We also cover how to trace LLM calls and evaluate model performance with LangSmith. Finally, we deploy our chatbot on an OCI compute instance. 

This module aims to familiarize you with the common systems, tools, and design frameworks used to build LLM applications. Concepts are introduced first, followed by a step-by-step chatbot construction process, enabling you to create your own LLM application.

With a duration of approximately 6 hours, the course can be easily completed within a week, depending on your schedule. Starting with no specific gen AI knowledge, you will gain mastery over OCI Generative AI service, along with a solid understanding of LLMs and the LLM application stack. Earn an OCI AI Generative AI Professional Certification 

The course learning path includes a professional-level certification exam, allowing learners to demonstrate their OCI Generative AI knowledge. The exam assesses various competencies, including understanding of LLM fundamentals, designing prompts, fine-tuning models, utilizing OCI Generative AI service and building LLM applications.
The exam consists of 40 questions to be answered within 90 minutes, with a passing score of 65%. To aid in preparation, a practice exam and skill checks are provided throughout the course.
