New, New, New – Partner Onboarding Training


Here at OPN, we know that sometimes it’s hard being “the new guy”, which is why we have made it easier than ever to join our partner program. Whether you’re a new Oracle partner, or have been partners with us for decades, this exciting announcement applies to you!

Oracle recently launched the availability of its New Partner Onboarding Training GLP . This Guided Learning Path includes training modules that outline the basics of the OPN program and how to leverage the most important membership benefits, including the steps required to become resell authorized and register deals in OMM/OPS. There are only two modules, and each are less than 15 minutes.

The Rise of M2M & Big Data

Did you know that an auto manufacturer’s fleet of cars will produce 1 petabyte of data per day, every day? Now let’s say that this auto manufacturer uses sensors on all of its vehicles to measure performance, wear, operational conditions and so forth… With this data, the manufacturer can:

  • Predict service needs based on driving conditions rather than an average time frame
  • Anticipate failures and schedule maintenance when it is efficient rather than when it is urgent
  • Improve the efficiency of operations and thus improve margins, all while dramatically increasing value to customers and potentially opening up new revenue streams.

With this kind of engineering, it is critical to think about the big data problem up front and consider optimal platform needs when designing sensor architecture and smart sensors. This new intersection of the M2M and cloud computing trends, if handled well, is extremely compelling; but if handled poorly— can be a collision.

So how do we actually enable business logic on edge devices to produce “smarter data” and the ability to securely and reliably transmit data for analysis on the back end?

One word: Java –Smart, Portable and Standards-based Java.

Get Up and Running With Fusion CRM

Facebook and Google + and Your Website…. OH MY!

If you think Facebook is only for posting pictures from your family vacation, well think again. This social platform really packs a punch when it comes to relating to your target audience, prospecting for leads and creating customer engagement for your company. On Facebook especially, it is important to ask smart questions, making your posts interactive. From Facebook pages you can create for your business, to groups you can join, there are so many ways to connect with your consumers on this platform.

Why not use Facebook’s milestone feature to tell the story of your company in a creative way, or start a Facebook poll and have your followers decided where you should host the next customer networking event? The great thing about social media is that you can cater to each site and audience a little differently.

Take Google + for example. With Google +, you are able to get down to the specifics thanks to their “circles” feature. This feature allows you to segment by customer type, company group, interest, or really anything you can think of, and just promote to that circle. Imagine having access to multiple micro-sites and posting only relevant content – it’s a marketers dream! Watch video 7, “Creating Success with Facebook and Google +”, to find out more!

Finally, in video 8, “Making your Website a Lead gen Machine”, we take a deep look at your own website. Why your website you ask? Because all that promoting, emailing, contact hunting and social media posting you do has to point back to somewhere, and this somewhere should be your website! Google AdWords is too!

This Valentine’s Day, OPN is spreading the love by enabling partners like you, to incorporate the Oracle trademark into your Google AdWords campaigns. By incorporating Oracle trademarks as keywords into your Google AdWords, you, as an Oracle partner, can make your ads more visible and more relevant to the customer community.

When potential customers search for a keyword that you have incorporated, your ad may show up in their search results, which may result in one or more of the following: love at first sight, a click, or potential lead.  There is no cost associated with authorizing with Oracle, just a little bit of your time, which can, in turn, bring about some huge benefits.

To join in this Google AdWords and Oracle love fest, start by sending an email to requesting authorization. Be sure to include your company ID, partner Google customer ID, and the text of the ads you’d like to use.
