Introducing: Cloud Computing Comes of Age

Collaboration between business and IT signals a new phase in cloud computing: It’s no longer enough to deliver speed and simplicity; the cloud must also support mission-critical operations.

This global survey of 376 business and technology leaders reveals a shift from pockets of clouds at the edges to the permeation of cloud throughout the enterprise. The report finds a correlation between an organization’s cloud maturity and the health of its growth initiatives.

That said, those companies with a strategic enterprise approach to cloud are more likely to:

  • Launch new products
  • Expand into new market segments
  • Expand into new geographies
  • Enter new businesses

Oracle had a different vision for the cloud when we started this journey eight years ago.  We know that whatever we built had to be simple and fast.  We also know from years of experience that cost and complexity would be issues unless enterprise standards were part of the original design. Accenture + Oracle Enhance the Accenture Life Sciences Cloud for R&D

Happy Wednesday, OPN!

We are proud to announce that Accenture has just expanded the Accenture Life Sciences Cloud for Research and Development (R&D) powered by Oracle with the addition of enhanced clinical data management capabilities enabling life sciences companies to generate high-quality and reliable data from clinical trials to reduce the time and cost needed to take drugs from development to market.

This latest version of the Accenture Life Sciences Cloud for R&D offers the Oracle Health Sciences Data Management Workbench (DMW), which includes prebuilt integrations to the Oracle Health Sciences InForm, an electronic data capture (EDC) solution to create an end-to-end clinical data collection and management platform.

With the addition of the Oracle Health Sciences DMW, the Accenture Life Sciences Cloud for R&D automates the time-consuming manual processes required to load, transform and clean trial data.  Trial sponsors and contract research organizations can now increase the speed and accuracy of data collection, integration and analysis; achieve greater efficiency of clinical workflow and query management; and accelerate stakeholders’ access to data across the trial lifecycle from source to submission.

As previously announced in October, the Life Sciences Cloud Coalition is a ground-breaking initiative, in parallel with the Accenture Life Sciences Cloud for R&D platform, to build an assembly of like-minded leaders, collaborating for a healthier industry in non-competitive areas.  The focus of the coalition is on driving innovation in the Accenture Life Sciences Cloud to digitally enable the R&D function, speed the drug development process while improving quality and cost for the industry.  Members of the Life Sciences Cloud Coalition include Oracle, Eisai, Pfizer, Merck and other leading pharmaceutical companies.

OPN Website Has Gone Mobile!

Hi there, partners! It’s hard to believe March is already here; seems like New Year’s Eve was just yesterday. Speaking of that, how are your New Year’s resolutions coming along? For those of you who haven’t kept them, it’s not too late to redeem yourself by going mobile!

Phase one of this rollout includes four key content areas:

Oracle Exastack Program announces Virtual Compute Appliance Ready

Oracle's Virtual Compute Appliance radically simplifies the way customers install, deploy, and manage converged infrastructures for any Linux, Oracle Solaris, or Microsoft Windows application. The Virtual Compute Appliance is a turnkey solution for cloud infrastructure, supporting Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) deployments.


With this announcement, Oracle partners with a Virtual Compute Appliance Ready application can now leverage the Exastack Program benefits. Partners will also be able to receive incremental rebates for selling Oracle's Virtual Compute Appliance through the OPN Incentive program.
