What’s On Tap in 2015

Happy New Year, partners! We hope that you all enjoyed a relaxing holiday season and are having a great start to 2015.

One of my favorite traditions every January is to buy a brand new oversized wall calendar. (Side note: am I the only one left that hasn’t converted to a mobile or online calendar?) It always amazes me how quickly those little blank squares transform into a mess of upcoming plans, events, trips, and reminders that will chart the course of my next 12 months.

So before your 2015 calendars fill up, make sure to save the date for these key upcoming Oracle and OPN events. Take advantage of sponsorship and exhibiting opportunities, gain some new training, or encourage your customers to attend.

  • Oracle CloudWorld – This event explores what the cloud can do to modernize and transform business. With locations scheduled around the world, find an upcoming event near you to sponsor. If you’ll be at the New York event on January 13, register to attend an exclusive partner roundtable to discover options for partnering with Oracle in the Cloud.

  • Oracle Value Chain Summit – In San Jose, CA on January 26-28, 2015, Oracle embarks on this year’s theme of “Enabling Agents of Change” in supply chain management. Customers can choose from more than 150 sessions across seven tracks for deep dives into every aspect of the industry.  There’s still time to become a sponsor!

  • Oracle JD Edwards Summit – If you’re a JD Edwards OPN member, you won’t want to miss the 6th annual partner summit in Broomfield, CO on February 2-5, 2015.  You’ll hear from Oracle executives, pick from 100+ breakout sessions, interact with sponsors, and enjoy multiple networking activities – all in beautiful Colorado.

  • Oracle HCM World – Check out the sponsor and exhibitor opportunities at Oracle’s signature HR event, which brings human resources, talent management, and business leaders together in Washington, DC on March 25-27, 2015.

  • Oracle CX Cloud Conferences – Become an exhibitor or sponsor at the CX Cloud Conference in Las Vegas, NV on March 31 – April 2, 2015. This event features four different experiences that focus on Modern Sales, Modern Service, Modern Commerce, and Modern Marketing.

  • Collaborate15 – Ensure you have a presence at Collaborate15 on April 12-16, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV this year. This educational conference is hosted by three of Oracle’s biggest and most influential user groups, and offers an expert blend of customer-to-customer interaction along with insights from technology visionaries and Oracle strategists.

  • Oracle Open World – It’s never too early to save the date for Oracle’s capstone event! We hope you’ll join us in San Francisco on October 25-29, 2015.

We hope you’re ready to gear up for a year filled with exciting events on tap! And these are just the tip of the iceberg. Check out for a full list of upcoming Oracle offerings this year. We hope to see you in person soon, and cheers to a prosperous 2015!

Attending COLLABORATE ’14? Learn what the Oracle PartnerNetwork has planned for you!

COLLABORATE 2014 is just a few weeks away partners, and a great place to showcase your specializations! This year’s event will be taking place from April 7-11 at The Venetian and Sands Expo Center in sunny Las Vegas. Before you pack your bag, below are some things to take advantage of onsite.

OPN representatives will be onsite visiting partners at their booths and recognizing latest OPN Specialization accomplishments – including Oracle Validated Integration.

OPN reps will be looking for creative conference participation such as:
  • OPN Specialized representation
  • Customer success stories
  • Your social media interactions during the event

Have your OPN credentials and social media accounts on display! Why? See #2 below.

Why risk it in a casino, when instead promoting your OPN specializations may have better odds. Spoiler Alert: OPN reps onsite will have a limited number of certification exam vouchers ($250 value/ea) and some OPN schwag to award. 1st place gets three vouchers, 2nd place gets two vouchers and 3rd place gets one.

Oracle is sponsoring the Cloud Odyssey Workshop on Monday (4/7); an innovative activity where customers and partners learn more about private cloud building. Partners further interested in OPN Cloud programs and specializations are invited to schedule onsite meetings with OPN representative Steve Lemme by emailing: Partners may also check out related user community Special Interest Groups (SIG): Cloud, Enterprise Manager, and Storage SIG meetings and related sessions.

Join OPN on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 8 for two important sessions: Oracle Fusion Financials Cloud (1:45pm – Level 3, Murano 3203) and Partner Enablement & OPN (5:30pm – Level 4, Marcello 4502). Both sessions will provide partners valuable tips and product information, as well as how to better take advantage of the OPN Specialized Program. For more information or to schedule a meeting during COLLABORATE 14, please contact

Partners who develop solutions that extend and enhance Oracle Applications – including Oracle Applications Cloud – can accelerate sales opportunities and attract new customers by participating in Oracle Validated Integration. Contact us to schedule time to meet or stop by the Oracle Validated Integration Exhibitor Lounge (booth #761) to learn more. The lounge is available to OPN partners during exhibitor hours to meet, relax, and refresh!

Don’t wait till Oracle OpenWorld! Use COLLABORATE as a half-way point to engage OPN to get the latest OPN news first hand, ask questions about specific OPN Specializations, plan your future Specialization strategy or share your Oracle OpenWorld submission ideas.

Check out branded merchandise now available to partners and OPN Certified Specialists! Choose from polos, t-shirts, notepads & more and show off your status.

Yes, conferences can be tiring, but don’t forget to take advantage of the 1:1 networking opportunities that surround you. Instead of catching up on emails, engage customers and OPN at each opportunity, especially dinner time! So get out of your room for dinner and get to know one of your customers better.

We look forward to meeting you in Las Vegas!

Social Everything

In a world dominated by social and mobile technologies, consumers don't just walk away from poor experiences on social media – they make negative comments and share them across their social channels.

It's not surprising that customer dissatisfaction has grown as the number of customer channels, devices and points of contact have grown. In a rush to keep up, many brands have thrown discrete technologies into the air without connecting them to the underlying business process. And if you have a fragmented customer experience, you're going to have frustrated customers.

Oracle CX Integration

Businesses don't want their social data in silos; rather they want them integrated with other business applications and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Oracle Social Cloud does just that by integrating with Oracle Marketing, Service, Sales and Commerce solutions. Businesses can easily leverage and integrate social data into other parts of their business – and even more simply with an existing Oracle Customer Experience (CX) application.

Oracle Social Relationship Management (SRM) integration with Oracle CX is a big differentiator for us. Others will tell you that social media is primarily a marketing channel; we will offer you a marketing point solution. We built a solution that can work with various business functions across the enterprise. It's comprised of four chief social pillars – sales, marketing, commerce and customer service. Below are some key points for each pillar and the actions that enable our customer base to execute on more easily:

Social Sales - Help your sales reps sell better:

1. Understand social behavior and influence
2. Understand thoughts about your product
3. Understand thoughts about your brand
4. Leverage key supporters to generate more revenue

Social Marketing - Generate better marketing ROI:

1. Integrate social marketing with other campaigns
2. Understand impact and influence of your paid, owned and earned content
3. Listen to consumer sentiment
4. Leverage social to market better products

Social Commerce - Make eCommerce personalized:

1. Use Social to drive eCommerce traffic
2. Provide personalized guidance
3. Resolve consumer issues

Social Customer Service - Make customer service a competitive differentiator:

1. Let your CSR's respond to social conversations
2. Design service offerings based on feedback
3. Build Service Knowledge Base off knowledge

At the heart of the Oracle Social strategy is an integrated Social Enterprise software solution that encompasses Oracle Social Marketing and Oracle Social Engagement and Monitoring. Recognizing it's no longer enough to push out messages through social media or set up internal social collaboration, Oracle has built a platform that can help companies create deeper bonds with stakeholders. No other company, at this point in time, has as comprehensive a Social business solution as this.

We hope you'll give it a shot!

Oracle Social Giving Customers Choices with Paid Social Media Partnership Program

social media choicesPaid social media is becoming increasingly crucial as marketers seek to amplify content for greater reach, higher engagement and better concentration of resources on the most likely of targets.

To better facilitate the integration of paid media with other social relationship management functions, Oracle Social Cloud is announcing an open API-based paid media solution bringing customers vendor choice, flexibility, and expertise. Our inaugural partners in this endeavor are social ad platform leaders Kenshoo, Nanigans, and SHIFT.

What this means is customers already on their way to becoming social enabled enterprises with the Oracle SRM can capitalize on the top ad technologies available, connecting content creation & management in SRM to promotion of that content with the paid social partners’ platforms.

Without question, our inaugural partners represent the best in the field, chosen based on criteria including platform capabilities, technology innovation, strategic partnerships with major social networks, customer base and scale capabilities.
Oracle Social Cloud Group VP Meg Bear says, “This strategic approach signals our belief in the power of an open API strategy, and we believe this is the best solution to meet our customers’ needs to leverage performance-based, targeted advertising at scale.”

Just look at the advantages of such an API partner strategy:
• Technology Expertise: SRM customers quickly benefit from years of focused development in the social paid media space by our partners.
• Analytics: Comprehensive analytics will be available to users through SRM and partner sites, helping them understand the metrics behind paid, owned and earned content.
• Coordination & Collaboration: Oracle SRM’s workflow functionality will enable better coordination and conversation between the community manager (owned and earned content), and the agency or media manager (paid content), facilitating greater efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Custom Audiences: Customers will be able to take advantage of SRM’s Custom Audiences capability via SRM and Eloqua integrations.
Why put yourself in the best position to act on paid social possible? Advertising Age has noted nothing has bested TV’s reach since the early '50s. Now, Facebook alone surpasses the reach of the 4 broadcast networks 18-to-24 and 25-to-34. Meanwhile a Nielsen study shows 3/4 of respondents use Paid Advertising, with 64% looking to increase spend in 2014.

It’s a massive audience of prospects. And if you’re spending ad dollars to engage with them on social (as a growing number are), that paid social spend should be as informed as possible.

The choices, flexibility, connection and collaboration offered by Oracle Social’s Paid Media Partnership Program offer a tremendous opportunity to move social marketers much closer to the real-time, right people, right-time strategies that lead to measurable success.
