A Few Words from Oracle’s Channel Chief

As Oracle enters a new fiscal year, I want to take a moment and reflect on my time at Oracle thus far. The technology industry is currently at an inflection point trying to figure out where growth will come from. When you look at Oracle’s portfolio of products, it's a complete stack from applications to disc, offering differentiation in the marketplace.

I was initially drawn to Oracle’s leadership, strategy, and world-class technology. Since joining the Oracle team in October 2013, I’ve had the privilege of traveling around the globe visiting our partners and customers, and wanted to share several common themes that came up during these meetings.

  • Cloud: Many partners are trying to figure out how to build a business around the cloud. Oracle partners can currently resell or refer our cloud services. We saw over 300 percent growth from cloud resale last quarter.
  • Engineered Systems: Hardware and software integrated together to simplify IT allows our joint customers to focus on the innovation they need to compete in a complex marketplace. We're seeing great success in a several areas, with more partners saying, “Let’s start with Oracle on Oracle.”
  • The Internet of Things: This is the next big opportunity for device manufacturers and ISV‘s to capture market share in what is projected to be a mulit-trillion-dollar opportunity, according to Gartner.
  • Competition: We've got a tremendous middleware platform and a tremendous database install base. We’re not just a database company; we are a complete provider.

So looking ahead, what are my priorities for fiscal 2015? Oracle PartnerNetwork has some very exciting plans on the horizon. There’s a lot more leadership and announcements to unfold, especially at this year’s Global Partner Kickoff taking place on June 25 + 26 depending on your region and time zone. I along with several other Oracle executives will be shedding light on Oracle’s strategy for the upcoming year, the latest opportunities within the OPN Specialized Program and sales strategies that will help you to continue to grow and profit with Oracle. Stay tuned for registration information next week.

We also have Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne to look forward to. These conferences are taking place in San Francisco from September 28 – October 2. We’ll have a variety of partner-specific activities for you at OPN Central @ OpenWorld including the OPN keynote, the famed AfterDark networking reception, access to the OPN Lounge and more.

In the meantime, I hope that everyone has a great end to fiscal 2014.

Best regards,

Rich Geraffo

The days were packed, the coffee was hot and the sessions were captivating.

On April 22 & 23, Oracle PartnerNetwork hosted an exclusive two-day summit for our top CX partners at the Oracle Conference Center in Redwood Shores, CA.  The summit was designed to help our partners grow their businesses by building and expanding their CX practices across the entire Oracle CX portfolio.

To our partners who made it out, we hope you found the event as valuable as we did. From Scott Creighton's opening keynote on CX Events, to Jason Rushforth’s CX Marketing overview, to our CPQ and Commerce sessions led by Chris Shutts and John Andrews, respectively, we hope you took away key CX strategies and objectives for every phase of the customer lifecycle.

We had the chance to snap some great photos and record videos onsite. Our photo collage is below, and our On Demand videos will be available in the coming days. We met with Hitachi, Wipro and Pierce Washington, among others.

Thanks again for joining us at the Summit, partners; we'll see you at Oracle OpenWorld!

Cheers!

Attending COLLABORATE ’14? Learn what the Oracle PartnerNetwork has planned for you!

COLLABORATE 2014 is just a few weeks away partners, and a great place to showcase your specializations! This year’s event will be taking place from April 7-11 at The Venetian and Sands Expo Center in sunny Las Vegas. Before you pack your bag, below are some things to take advantage of onsite.

1.    SHOWCASE YOUR OPN SPECIALIZATION CREDENTIALS, BE CREATIVE
OPN representatives will be onsite visiting partners at their booths and recognizing latest OPN Specialization accomplishments – including Oracle Validated Integration.

OPN reps will be looking for creative conference participation such as:
  • OPN Specialized representation
  • Customer success stories
  • Your social media interactions during the event

Have your OPN credentials and social media accounts on display! Why? See #2 below.

2.    ENTER A CONTEST
Why risk it in a casino, when instead promoting your OPN specializations may have better odds. Spoiler Alert: OPN reps onsite will have a limited number of certification exam vouchers ($250 value/ea) and some OPN schwag to award. 1st place gets three vouchers, 2nd place gets two vouchers and 3rd place gets one.

3.    CHECKOUT THE CLOUD SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP MEETINGS
Oracle is sponsoring the Cloud Odyssey Workshop on Monday (4/7); an innovative activity where customers and partners learn more about private cloud building. Partners further interested in OPN Cloud programs and specializations are invited to schedule onsite meetings with OPN representative Steve Lemme by emailing: steven.lemme@oracle.com. Partners may also check out related user community Special Interest Groups (SIG): Cloud, Enterprise Manager, and Storage SIG meetings and related sessions.

4.    JOIN VALUABLE OPN PRESENTATIONS
Join OPN on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 8 for two important sessions: Oracle Fusion Financials Cloud (1:45pm – Level 3, Murano 3203) and Partner Enablement & OPN (5:30pm – Level 4, Marcello 4502). Both sessions will provide partners valuable tips and product information, as well as how to better take advantage of the OPN Specialized Program. For more information or to schedule a meeting during COLLABORATE 14, please contact kim.miller@oracle.com.

5.    LEARN ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF ACHIEVING ORACLE VALIDATED INTEGRATION
Partners who develop solutions that extend and enhance Oracle Applications – including Oracle Applications Cloud – can accelerate sales opportunities and attract new customers by participating in Oracle Validated Integration. Contact us to schedule time to meet or stop by the Oracle Validated Integration Exhibitor Lounge (booth #761) to learn more. The lounge is available to OPN partners during exhibitor hours to meet, relax, and refresh!

6.    PRACTICE FOR ORACLE OPENWORLD
Don’t wait till Oracle OpenWorld! Use COLLABORATE as a half-way point to engage OPN to get the latest OPN news first hand, ask questions about specific OPN Specializations, plan your future Specialization strategy or share your Oracle OpenWorld submission ideas.

7.    SEE NEW OPN BRANDED SCHWAG
Check out branded merchandise now available to partners and OPN Certified Specialists! Choose from polos, t-shirts, notepads & more and show off your status.

8.    NETWORK + ENJOY
Yes, conferences can be tiring, but don’t forget to take advantage of the 1:1 networking opportunities that surround you. Instead of catching up on emails, engage customers and OPN at each opportunity, especially dinner time! So get out of your room for dinner and get to know one of your customers better.

We look forward to meeting you in Las Vegas!

Cheers,
Steve Lemme (@lemmes) and the Oracle PartnerNetwork (@oraclepartners)

Experience User Experience! Oracle Applications UX Expo at OOW

Thinking about attending OOW13?

Let the Oracle Applications UX Expo help you make the right decision. Be among the first to see Oracle’s latest forays into simplicity, mobility, and extensibility. You’ll get a sneak peek at Oracle’s future user experience concepts, and you’ll have a chance to talk to the people who are building them. If you like the idea of getting your hands on new designs and prototypes before they launch (we sure do), this’ll be your kind of thing.

Join us at the Marriott Marquis first floor Chill Zone and Bin 55 (4th and Mission – 1 block from the Moscone Center) on Monday, Sep. 23, 1:30pm–4:30pm.

We know there’s tons to see at Oracle OpenWorld, so we’ve turned this expo into an open house. It’ll be a prime networking opportunity for partners, influencers and the Oracle UX team. Come whenever you have a break between sessions. Enjoy refreshments and appetizers, and be ready to see user-experience innovations you won’t see anywhere else!
