OPN’s 2013 Fiscal Year-End Review

With Oracle’s fiscal year coming to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reminisce on the awesome year it has been and highlight some of the key milestones for OPN.  Here is a look at our top 10 OPN moments from the past year.

PRODUCTS & PROGRAMS:

Oracle SPARC T5 and M5 Servers. From performance to scalability, availability and value, Oracle’s expanded SPARC portfolio is sure to hit a homerun with your customers.

Oracle Database Appliance X3-2. If you are ready to reduce your risk while saving time and money by managing your valuable data and applications, then you have found your solution.

Oracle Cloud programs for partners. These 5 Cloud programs have created some buzz in the Channel. Launched during Oracle OpenWorld 2012, partners can start to capitalize on the growing demand for Cloud solutions with little investment through Oracle Cloud Services Referral Partner program, or choose to get Specialized.

EVENTS:

OPN Exchange @ OpenWorld. Last year marked the first time that partners could attend a comprehensive partner event while at Oracle OpenWorld.  The program was such a success that we are doing it even bigger this year! Join us September 22- 26, 2013 to experience Oracle PartnerNetwork Exchange keynotes, partner-specific conference sessions with targeted tracks, a Test Fest certification program, a dedicated OPN lounge, the exclusive AfterDark OPN reception, and so much more!

Oracle CloudWorld. This event combined both mobile and social in 10+ cities around the globe, including a partner session that reviewed the 5 available OPN Cloud Partner Programs.  Be sure to attend next year because the sky is truly the limit with Oracle Cloud!

Partner Onboarding TrainingHere at OPN, we know that sometimes it is hard being “the new guy”, which is why we have made it easier than ever to join our partner program through training modules available in the Guided Learning Path.

OPN Specialized Activation Center. Designed to help our partners navigate through the steps necessary to become authorized to embed, sell, or implement with Oracle. This is your one stop shop for key on-demand training and information.

Social Marketing for Today’s Digital World video series. This series was designed to help answer your social marketing questions, while giving you the tools needed to build a demand generation campaign and close more deals. From “Laying the Foundation,” and “Building Your Online Presence,” to “Staging for Business Success,” and “Advertising to You Customers”, this series is sure to get your companies marketing engine revved up for success!

It’s clear that OPN Specialized partners can deliver under extremely demanding business conditions and that the expertise Oracle requires them to demonstrate is effectively put to work in the field.

Oracle Database Appliance Video Contest Winners!

Remember the days of Star Search with Ed McMahon? –Well, OPN has found its rising channel star in the Oracle Database Appliance – a simple, reliable, affordable database system.  More specifically, we have four creative, witty and downright hilarious partner videos staring our very own Oracle Database Appliance.

These partner videos were selected from a wide range of videos submitted through our Oracle Database Appliance video contest that ran from February to May 2012.  Winners were selected from around the world in two categories – Most Creative and Most Popular (receiving the most ‘likes’ on YouTube). Each winning company will receive a complimentary pass to Oracle OpenWorld 2012, and some serious Oracle promotion via the Oracle Database Appliance website under “What’s New”, the Oracle Database Appliance YouTube play list and our OPN social media pages.

What Does Your Oracle Database Appliance Look Like?

Ever imagine your name up in lights, or maybe you in your very best attire, thanking the academy? Well this dream of yours is not too far off because in February Oracle launched its first ever Oracle Database Appliance Video contest, and next month (May 2012) marks the last month to submit a video for a chance to win a complimentary pass to this year’s Oracle OpenWorld 2012 … on top of some major Oracle exposure.

Though we can’t promise you an Oscar, we can say for those OPN partners that have been approved to resell Oracle Database Appliance and love it as much as we do, this is your shot in the Oracle spotlight, your 90 seconds of fame, and a time to channel your inner Spielberg or Lucas. Take a peek at what Oracle’s creative team came up with:

May the force be with you as you create a video of pure brilliance that will not only act as a useful tool to generate leads, but one that could also be shown to fans around the world. Here is what you need to know in order to submit and wow “the Academy”:

How this Contest Works:

  1. Create an original video that is 120 seconds or less that is promotional in nature (not instructional or for demonstration).
  2. Post your Oracle Database Appliance video to your YouTube channel.
  3. Send a link to your video posted to your YouTube channel to kim.boyle@oracle.com.
  4. Oracle will promote your video via the OPN Oracle Database Appliance YouTube playlist*
  5. Oracle will ask viewers to vote on (like) the video of their choice --One vote per registered YouTube user.
  6. Oracle will select one winner per region based on viewer votes and Oracle executive review. Winners will be notified the first week in June 2012.

Timing:

  • Submissions Deadline: We suggest partners submit their videos no later than May 1st to ensure they have sufficient time to receive the most viewer votes possible.
  • The contest runs from February – May 31.
  • Winners will be selected the first week of June.

A Touchdown for Oracle

Well it came and it went, football season is officially over. While you may still be getting that last bit of nacho cheese out of your couch, Oracle PartnerNetwork is also doing some final wrap-up itself. In case you missed it we recently hosted a Partner Executive Summit with winning results. Though these two events are quite different in their own right, they both share the common idea of winning through collaboration, and of course… great food.

Over 100 Oracle Specialized channel partners participated in this crowd pleasing summit. With not a dead ball in sight partners of all kinds mingled and chatted over Oracle's extensive hardware and software portfolio - specifically Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Database Appliance, two products that have really taken it to the goal line.

Even without a cheer squad in sight partners rallied around the topic of Partner to Partner collaboration and how it can better a company's offerings. No flags thrown here as this summit was specifically designed with networking opportunities in mind.

While we didn't have a halftime show we also didn't have any losers either – we think everyone left knowing just a little bit more about how to win with Oracle. But don't just take our word for it; here is what our partner Keste had to say:
