OPN Central Day Four: That’s a wrap

Today was nothing short of action-packed in the OPN Lounge. We saw a steady flow of OPN In Focus Session attendees (registration totaled more than 500 this year!), video interviews with award-winning partners, Demand Gen Rally Station consultations and Q&As taking place at Information Station kiosks.

As for main-stage conversations, this morning’s keynote from Oracle EVP Dave Donatelli captured the essence of Oracle’s Converged Infrastructure strategy. Dave noted that our on-premises solutions have a, “cloud insurance policy” and can be anything customers want it to be. He also underscored how Oracle Private Cloud Appliance is a simple CI design for quick cloud deployments and consolidating Microsoft Windows, Linux and Oracle Solaris applications.

Oracle’s EVP & SVP of Systems John Fowler & Juan Loaiza followed Donatelli and discussed SPARC S7 and how the product is bringing advanced security, efficiency and simplicity to the cloud.

As the OPN Lounge winds down, we want to know: did you enjoy yourself this year? What did you think of the new OPN Lounge size and location? Anything you’d like to see next year? Leave us a comment below. OPN welcomes all feedback in the hopes to make OPN Central 2017 the best event yet.

Thanks for joining us at #oow16, partners, and we’ll see you tonight at beautiful AT&T Park for the Oracle Appreciation Event!

Cheers,

OPN Central Day Three: Stay focused

It’s hard to believe day three of #oow16 is in the books. The OPN Lounge was busier today than yesterday, but felt cozier and more relaxed at the same time. We saw a lot more traction at the ISV Cloud Bar which is great; one partner in particular thanked us for further explaining how ISVs are using enrichment apps in their migration to the cloud.

This afternoon, Larry Ellison delivered his Future of Cloud Database and Infrastructure keynote, asserting that Oracle is now the “fastest-growing large-scale cloud service provider.” Ellison went on to say that Oracle’s infrastructure services will deliver twice the compute power, twice the memory, four times the storage, and 10 times the input/output speeds than Amazon Web Services. Hashtag impressive.

So what’s next? We have one full conference day left and a lot to pack in. Tomorrow, there are more than nine OPN In Focus Sessions, three OPN Test Fest exam slots, a team of demand generation experts waiting to school you in modern marketing and two world-class performers ready to sing to you. Come visit us in the OPN Lounge (booth 2201) during the day and don’t forget your dancing shoes tomorrow night.
