Inquiring Minds Want to Know

Oracle OpenWorld Statistics for a Trivia Contest

Yes, Oracle OpenWorld 2014 is over. The town is no longer painted (or signed) Oracle red. San Franciscans have their Howard Street back. And traffic is inching past Moscone Center in the usual congested way. SOMA restaurants have that table by the window open for 7 p.m. Hotels are starting to advertise available rooms. And Oracle staff members are creating new files labeled “Oracle OpenWorld 2015.” By the way, have you saved the date for Oracle OpenWorld 2015 - October 25-29, 2015?

Here are some statistics about Oracle OpenWorld 2014. Use them to impress friends, colleagues, and perfect strangers with your knowledge. And as with any set of statistics, the numbers could change as additional reports come in.

  • 60,000 attendees and more than 7 million online

  • Attendees from 145 countries, the majority from North America

  • 460 partner exhibits in more than 392,620 square feet of space

  • 3,460 speakers (more than 1,825 partner and customer speakers)

  • 437 stations in Oracle DEMOgrounds

  • 34,512 session seats

  • More than 111,946 hotel room nights sold

  • 950 wireless access points

All good things must come to an end... but at least we have OPN Cloud Connection!

Happy Tuesday, OPN! We hope everyone made it home safely and is feeling recovered after Oracle OpenWorld. We miss it and are already looking ahead to next year's conference, which will be taking place in late October.

As you witnessed and read about, there were some significant announcements made last week at OpenWorld. These included a major upgrade to the Oracle Cloud platform, enhancements to Social Station, the release of Social Commerce, as well as partner and customer panels from companies like Intel, Walgreens and Procter & Gamble.

Oracle CEO Mark Hurd

One notable announcement specific to the partner community we'd like to highlight is OPN Cloud Connection. During the OPN keynote, we announced the launch of OPN Cloud Connection - a new resource for partners to explore, learn and engage in the Oracle Cloud. As the single source for partner-focused Cloud information, this open community invites both existing Oracle partners and non-Oracle members to participate free of charge. OPN Cloud Connection gives you access to Cloud content, the Oracle Cloud portfolio, best practices, technical resources, and innovative new business models. In addition, OPN Cloud Connection serves as a platform to engage directly with Oracle experts and other partners. We encourage you to join OPN Cloud Connection, and please reach out to us if you have any questions about it.

Thank you again for making this year's Oracle OpenWorld the success it was. We'll leave you with our favorite photo from the Oracle Appreciation Event last Wednesday. Can't wait to do it all again in 2015!
