Week 39: Final VAD Smackdown Score - 1:1

While the Giants have secured a division title for the National League West, this year's OPN Forum couldn't determine a winner of the first ever "VAD Smackdown". Two of Oracle's largest global VADs - Arrow and Avnet -joined Judson on stage for the first ever "VAD Smackdown" during the Global Partner Welcome Keynote; and while they had a little fun smacking each other down, they are serious about elevating their partners.
Both spoke about their unyielding focus on moving you up the ranks to Get Specialized. They also took a few minutes to share their unique partner value propositions. Avnet's Mike Hurst, VP, Global Supplier Business Executive, stressed the importance of Avnet's SolutionsPath methodology which provides training, tools and demand generation to help partners find growth opportunities and sell a full suite of solutions. Tom Colleary, who heads up Oracle software sales for Arrow, highlighted Arrow partners' tremendous growth in software sales and his plans for taking that success to its hardware partners. At the end of it all, the score remained tied leaving us anticipating what next year's OPN Forum will bring.
