Last Friday marked Opening Day in the Bay, a fun San Francisco tradition which celebrates the official opening day of the Northern Californian sailing season. Just as captains will spend the next few months sailing around the bay for a win; Oracle partners have already been winning by driving customer success with Oracle’s SPARC T4 Servers and Oracle Solaris 11. No amount of tail wind could slow down these mates because nearly 500 partners have already sold Oracle’s SPARC T4 Servers with Oracle Solaris 11… And the boat isn’t docking anytime soon!
Thanks to this sea of server opportunities, Oracle partners have been moving quickly, at well over 50 knots of speed, so that their customers can benefit from the increased performance needed to run their most demanding enterprise applications in private, hybrid or public clouds. Starboard ahead!
But don’t jump ship for one of these servers just yet, OPN also has two exciting Specializations to consider. Instead, hop on board and watch as Joel Borellis, GVP of Oracle's Worldwide Alliances and Channels, highlights the OPN Specializations for both SPARC T4 and Oracle Solaris 11 and takes a deeper dive into Oracle’s SPARC T4 enterprise servers.

A little rain or a lot of rain couldn’t get in the way of hosting yet another successful Oracle OpenWorld Tokyo. Last week marked the beginning of this long awaited event which kicked-off right away as 220 Oracle partners from around the world attended the OPN Forum. There, central topics such as Oracle’s global alliance strategy and Oracle’s overall partner strategy were discussed. This event was followed by the Alliances and Channels Knowledge Session which included an ISV Round Table led by our very own Oracle President, Mark Hurd. Throughout the week partners were able to take in keynotes from top Oracle Executives; check out Mark Hurd’s keynote below:
Thursday wouldn’t have been complete without a roundtable of its own - the Partner Executive Roundtable - which was well attended by the dynamic companies that are helping to grow Japan’s booming market. As partners zipped through the Exhibition Hall, many took some time to learn more about the OPN program at large by visiting our OPN booth, and gained a deeper understanding of what it means to ‘Get Specialized’. Throughout the week, over 180 partners joined Oracle’s “Test Fest” which enabled partners to take part in complimentary certification exams for Specialization. We are happy to announce that 49 partners passed!
After adding another victorious Oracle OpenWorld Tokyo to our growing list of events, OPN now anxiously awaits the arrival of Oracle OpenWorld 2012. The only question is… how ready are you?
See you in San Francisco,

Hello speed racer - OPN
here to inform you that in case you missed it, our ISV Focused PartnerCast took
place last week in Oracle's Redwood Shores studio. Without a roadblock in site,
Oracle's key drivers discussed topics like Optimized and Oracle's Cloud
offerings; even OPN partner MSC took it to the next level by stopping by to share with us
their first hand experience with the Oracle Exastack Optimized program.
By stepping into Oracle's "Motor Speedway", better known as the Exastack lab, MSC was able to fine tune,
test and optimize their application on Oracle Exadata, as well as
gain outstanding expertise on several technical areas such as optimizing
multithreaded applications and database tuning. By optimizing their solution,
MSC has "decreased their deployment time and saw a 30 percent performance
improvement in database." Sounds like
someone's gearing up for an "Oracle Indy 500."
By achieving Oracle
Exadata Optimized status, MSC is putting performance in the driver's seat, and
their customers at the front of the race by delivering a solution that is tuned
for performance, scalability and reliability. So go ahead and let the
Oracle Exastack Optimized pit crew take you to the finish line. Learn how
to go from 0-60 by watching MSC's segment of the ISV Focused PartnerCast below.
