Caltrain Could Buy You Time for Dinner
By Jeff Erickson.
If you’re traveling to the city from Silicon Valley for the conference, here’s how to buy yourself a few hours for dinner in the city: Take the Caltrain instead of the Oracle OpenWorld shuttle.
The last shuttle back to headquarters departs at 7 p.m. If you miss it and then take the train, you still have to figure out how to travel the mile from the Belmont station to Oracle headquarters to pick up your vehicle. If, however, you hop the train from your local station, you can can catch the train home as late as 10:30 pm. Trains leave King St. Station at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, and 10:30 p.m. and stop at every station between SF and San Jose. The cost is around $5 each way.
