Does San Francisco Have the Best Ballpark in the World?

We'll Let You Be the Judge of That
The 2008 MLB regular season will be drawing to a close during Oracle OpenWorld, and there's going to be some great baseball going on in San Francisco. The Giants will be trying to play spoiler against the Dodgers and Tim Lincecum will be gunning for one of the great honors in sports. Pat Gallagher of the San Francisco Giants is here to take us out to the ballgame.
Among all the many things there are to see and do here in the City is a visit to AT&T Park to see the Giants play at what many have called the best ballpark in the world. Sports Business Journal named it the nation's "Sports Facility of the Year" this spring. You've probably seen it on TV. Remember the homerun balls splashing into the bay with kayakers fighting to get the ball? This is the place. And you are in luck: the Giants are home during Oracle OpenWorld 2008.
The Giants face the Colorado Rockies at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, September 23, 24, and 25, and end the home season against the archrival Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday, September 26 at 7:15 p.m., Saturday the 27th at 6:05 p.m., and Sunday the 28th at 1:05 p.m.
How do you see them? Here are some insider's tips on how to get the best seats in the house. You can get specific team-related information, game times, opponents, pitching matchups, and buy tickets online from the Giants. But sometimes the best seats are the ones that have been returned for sale from season ticket holders on the secondary market. If you want to sit behind home plate to see our ace Tim Lincecum throw bullets in his attempt to be the first Giant to win the coveted Cy Young Award in over 40 years, you can do it by going to StubHub and clicking on the AT&T Park section. You may pay a bit more, but it will be worth it. Or sit out in the bleachers with the real fans.
Or rent a kayak from City Kayak and wait for a "splash hit" yourself. See you at the yard.
