Partners: All Together Now

By Claudia McDonald

Oracle Exastack. Oracle Fusion Applications. Java. Optimization.

Remember the start of elementary school? “It’s going to be such a big school year!”—with activities, lessons, and new “friends” like fractions, planets, and dinosaurs. More importantly, the required-materials list: markers, scissors, crayons, pencils, folders, glue sticks, tape, and lots of glitter.

Here’s something we want you to prepare for, partners: The Oracle PartnerNetwork Forum is going to be such a big event this year! You can pick and choose topics that best meet your needs and hear all about them in one place, in one day, at the Oracle PartnerNetwork Forum—partner-central (with plenty of glitter) at Oracle OpenWorld 2011.

The date? Sunday, October 2, 2011. The time? 9:00 a.m. The place? Moscone South. With agenda items such as Oracle’s Channel Business Value Proposition, Best Practices for a Successful Repeatable Solution Offering, and Maximizing Oracle VAR Profitability, we’ve got you covered whether you are an Oracle channel, ISV, OEM, SI, VAR, or VAD partner.

Download the full session agenda. If you are already registered for Oracle OpenWorld or JavaOne, log back in to register for the Oracle PartnerNetwork Forum, and then select your SIG sessions; get registration details here. Pick up your registration materials at Moscone South on Saturday, October 1, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday, October 2, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Don’t miss the chance to get a head start on Oracle OpenWorld. See you at the Oracle PartnerNetwork Forum.

Center of the Partner Universe

Don't miss the Oracle PartnerNetwork Forum

By Claudia McDonald

Did you know the ancient Roman Forum was once considered to be the center of the universe? Well, we would like you to join us at the Oracle PartnerNetwork Forum, the center of the Oracle OpenWorld universe for Oracle partners. Mark your calendars and join us Sunday, October 2, 2011, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During the Forum, you’ll learn about plans and strategies of attack directly from Oracle “senators,” network with other “gladiators” (or lions, depending on your preference), and gain valuable insight about survival in specialized breakout sessions geared to help you thrive inside and outside the Forum; no sparring nor bloodshed permitted. Check the schedule and agenda.

Best of all, the Oracle PartnerNetwork Forum is a free event open to all registeredpartners of Oracle OpenWorld. We will have special interest groups—Java, Fusion, and Exastack, to name just a few—followed by a partner bacchanal (actually, it’s just lunch).

The Oracle PartnerNetwork Forum Global General Session, hosted by Judson Althoff, senior vice president, Worldwide Alliances and Channels and Embedded Sales, Oracle, and other battle sessions are all listed on the agenda. See you Sunday at the Forum.

Fujitsu Can't Get Enough of OpenWorld

Highlights from Our Marquee Sponsor

If you attended Oracle OpenWorld this year, it's almost certain that you crossed paths with our Marquee sponsor Fujitsu.

On opening night, Fujitsu was announced as the "Oracle Global Industry Partner of the Year" and celebrated the award later that evening as a sponsor of the Oktoberfest-themed Welcome Reception. Bright and early the next morning, Fujitsu's Corporate SVP Noriyuki Toyoki gave a keynote to an enthusiastic crowd. The rest of the week Fujitsu presented sessions on everything from Oracle Fusion Midddleware to SPARC Enterprise servers. And they wrapped things up as a sponsor of the Appreciation Night festivities.

The Fujitsu folks had such a successful conference that they're trying to keep the good times going. Check out Fujitsu-Oracle Central for their recap of the big event. Along with the Fujitsu keynote, they have video interviews from the show floor with Fujitsu customers, product experts, and session presenters. Find out what Mr. Toyoki thought of his first visit to Oracle OpenWorld, why Debra Lilley is honored to be an Oracle ACE, and why Andy Seferta thinks it was a great experience to be a Marquee sponsor.
