Thankful for HR Leaders in 2020

Thanksgiving looks a little different for all of us this year with the COVID-19 pandemic. Though many of us are traveling to grandma’s house as we’ve always done, we’ll also be socially distanced at the dinner table, likely in an outdoor setting, and using copious amounts of hand sanitizer to make sure everyone stays healthy.

The Thanksgiving holiday is particularly special because we get to express our appreciation for the monumental efforts and accomplishments our customers made during a time of so much change and uncertainty. We’ve counted our blessings, which include the opportunity to help customers remain agile and resilient, share our vision and support customer journeys, and engage in meaningful conversations at virtual events and Zoom get-togethers, to promote connections across the workforce.

This year, our gratitude goes to HR leaders.

We’re Grateful for the Leadership of HR Leaders

When the calendar turned to 2020, HR leaders spoke enthusiastically about the future, anticipating the challenges of managing five generations in the workplace and leveraging emerging technology in the workplace. We wrote about them right here too in our 2020 predictions

Unfortunately, sentiment changed overnight as the COVID-19 pandemic transformed the business landscape, and by extension, workforces. HR leaders immediately stepped up, supporting their workforces to go remote, strategizing a safe return to the office, and developing policies to ensure business continuity. The changes thrust organizations into a new place, and to rise to achieve success in new ways. We are grateful to have the opportunity to support ever-changing initiatives, including offering our Workforce Health and Safety module complimentary during the pandemic to ensure workplace peace-of-mind without fiscal concerns.

We’re Grateful for the Foresight of HR Leaders

HR has leaped 10 years forward in just the past six months, driven by a combination of company and workforce infrastructure needs—including employees who require collaboration, communication, and productivity tools supported by AI, machine learning, and big data—accessible remotely via the cloud.

Many organizations are discovering cloud solutions for the very first time as they migrate from on-premises solutions, and we’re grateful to help guide them on their journey. From supporting remote implementations to offering innovative solutions like our Digital Assistant, both HR leaders and their employees have found more time to be creative and find new ways to work and to spend time with their families while the lines between work and home life continue to blur.

But don’t take our word for it. We’re also grateful for the analysts at Gartner and Forrester who undertook the task of evaluating a plethora of HR tools on the market this year and named Oracle Cloud HCM a leader. It’s a privilege we never take lightly as we place our customers first and incorporate many of their recommendations into the platform.

This Thanksgiving, we’re tipping our hats to the HR leaders who have kept us safe and guided us through the pandemic.

We’re Grateful for the Empathy of HR Leaders

The most impactful act of this pandemic has been the understanding and care of HR leaders as their workforce balances working from home, managing their families, and helping their children succeed at remote schooling. While HR leaders could have simply focused on preserving business operations, they did more in 2020 than ever before to provide the empathy we all need in these uncertain times. Offering extended leaves, additional childcare options, and remote working schedules, along with better manager understanding have all gone a long way to earn the loyalty of employees and their willingness to accept the new world of work. Recognizing the changes and supporting the workforce quickly has championed the role of HR into one of empathy and protection, and we thank you.

Throughout the past eight months, we’ve also witnessed an outpouring of empathy from our customers as they show their care for their workforce. We’re grateful to have a front-row seat by offering our Employee Care Package, which guides leaders as they ask employees to return to the office.

Finally, we’re also grateful for the HR leaders who have opened the conversation around mental health in the workplace. As our AI@Work Study discovered earlier this year, workers are more stressed than ever and many expect their employers to do something about it. Thankfully, many already are

Thank You

Many of us will be sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner with our families this year and sharing our gratitude for the blessings of the year. To the HR professionals out there, know that we are especially grateful for you and the work that you’ve done. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
