Using Cloud technology and a people-forward strategy to achieve limitless growth

UEM Edgenta (www.uemedgenta.com) is the leading Asset Management and Infrastructure Solutions company in the region and a subsidiary of the UEM Group. Listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (KLSE: EDGENTA), UEM Edgenta’s expertise covers Healthcare Support and Property & Facility Solutions, and Infrastructure Services covering Expressways and Rail, including project management & engineering design capabilities via Opus Consultants. UEM Edgenta has an operational presence in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, and the United Arab Emirates.

At UEM Edgenta, as much as there is an emphasis on productivity and its business offerings, they are also laser-focused on human capital development. Inspiring individuals to achieve their full potential is at the heart of what they do. Recruitment and retaining the best minds ensure that their clients and partners receive world-class service and teams of talented personnel can then stay motivated to go that extra mile.

A balance between customers and employees needs

UEM Edgenta had its sights set on transforming its business operations to serve the customer better. On top of that, it recognised that human resources (HR) play a big role in retaining talent and responding to its ever-changing workforce’s needs. This is especially important in large organisations, which require a bird’s eye view of their operations and employees to make better-informed business strategies.

From these two main components, different data were collected across different systems, which leads to various reports being generated for management decision making. This wealth of data then needs to be processed further to produce refined results in line with UEM Edgenta’s people forward strategies.

On the business front, Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) provides one single source of truth that manages every stage of the employee lifecycle. It is a one-stop solution that simplifies processes and makes information easier to find, understand, and act on. Being a massive project, Oracle Consulting determined that the best way was to stagger the implementation process into two stages, targeting both at the same time remotely.

Boosting employee experience and rethinking human resources

On 1 June 2020, UEM Edgenta went live with HCM Cloud. Harmonising data sets onto one platform was done by creating a tailor-made digital solution developed in five months. This helped improve the employee experience as it streamlined how data flowed from one touchpoint to another seamlessly.

Since then, UEM Edgenta has continuously personalised the system and leveraged the delivered Oracle HCM features to elevate the employee experience and meet business change. On 1 September 2021, UEM Edgenta rebranded the HCM cloud to EDGE (Employee DiGital Experience) with the introduction of an enterprise-tailored line manager dashboard, Connections, Journey, and e-Certificate for completed learning. On 8 February 2022, UEM Edgenta successfully launched the Oracle Recruiting Cloud, transforming conventional recruitment into a modern and dynamic hiring process.

People are UEM Edgenta’s biggest strength
For its HR function, adopting Oracle HCM enabled UEM Edgenta to:
•    Acquire the right people and nurture their growth and development
•    Allow management to allocate compensation across a group of employees scientifically
•    Capable of managing, delivering, and monitoring employee training as well as personalising learning paths based on performance and career development opportunities
•    Bring in a personalised HR case management solution for employees in an engaging, intelligent, and secure way

Our set of values and culture are at the core of everything we do at UEM Edgenta. We are always working towards enhancing the customer and supplier experiences and the way we interact with them, as well as making the experience seamless for our employees. This experience is crucial as part of the digital journey of our organisation to further align our aspiration across our operations,” says Razman Ismail, Chief People Officer, UEM Edgenta Berhad.

Looking Ahead
UEM Edgenta aims to enhance its customer experience and expand its current HR function to optimise its business strengths by putting employees first. Going onto the Cloud is a pivotal step for business growth. Oracle Consulting is honoured to collaborate with like-minded partners at every stage of their digital transformation journey.
