Oracle HCM Cloud Customer Q&A with Sonepar

At this year's Oracle HCM User Group (OHUG) Global conference, we had the opportunity to sit down with Oracle HCM Cloud customers for a short Q&A. We got to hear about what brought them to the OHUG conference, some of the benefits they are receiving from their Oracle HCM Cloud solutions, and advice they would give other businesses looking to move to the cloud.

Below is the discussion we had with Jim Duran, Training Manager at Sonepar.

Q: What made you attend the OHUG Global Conference this year?

Duran: I was asked to present on the way in which our company is using Oracle Learn Cloud (formerly Taleo Learn) solutions in our everyday operations. I was most interested in attending OHUG to network with other Learn administrators that I've known over a number of years.

Q: What Oracle HCM solutions are you currently using?

Duran: Oracle Learn Cloud

Q: What would you say is the most significant benefit you've realized from your use of Oracle HCM solutions?

Duran: The most significant benefit we have realized from our use of Oracle HCM solutions is the ability to support every aspect of our organization with learning and development opportunities that drive market share growth and density; innovation in our company's abilities to service our customers; and profitability of our company for the benefit of our shareholders. Oracle HCM solutions has allowed us to develop our most important company asset, the people of our organization, regardless of geographical location, technological skill, or customer market; and it is our people who will drive the future of our organization.

Q: What advice would you give an organization looking to move their HR systems to the cloud?

Duran: As with anything technological, the advice I would offer to any organization looking to move to the cloud is this: Take your time to do it right, due your homework on what right should look like in terms of a successful implementation at your organization, and dedicate resources early in the process to ensure your implementation goes smoothly. And if you're hesitant, just do it! The benefits far outweigh the cost, and those savings or increases in profitability can be passed onto shareholders and customers. It truly is the smarter way of doing business in today's competitive world.
