Get Your Hands on Oracle HCM Cloud

“Oracle is the Apple of HR” said a participant at a recent hands-on mobile session of Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud applications. 

How does a customer fully understand the potential of Modern HR in the Cloud? Oracle offers numerous hands-on learning sessions— in-person guided tours of several applications in the Oracle HCM Cloud suite for conference attendees. I visited three of those hands-on workshops recently, at Oracle HCM World in Washington, D.C., HR Technology in Las Vegas, and Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco. 

In these workshops, participants receive their own mobile iPad device (for the hour, of course) and then swiftly move into a working session led by an Oracle Specialist. The Oracle Specialist spends the first part of the hour-long workshop introducing key features and core functionality so that participants feel comfortable engaging with a brand new application as if it were their own HR software. 

The true test of knowing whether the application appeals to participants is when the session dives into deeper scenarios that relate to common HR processes—such as activities related to a recruiter monitoring the talent pipeline, a manager conducting performance reviews, or a business analyst tapping into insights about the workforce. 

Is an hour sufficient time to get acclimated to the Oracle HCM Cloud? One participant stated: "More sessions please". 

Another offered the following suggestion: “Definitely continue and maybe make them better known. Someone else recommended I attend, Otherwise, I may have missed it. Mobile is by far the most impressive part of HCM, and without seeing it and doing it, I don’t think many people know how slick it will be.”
