What do i like Most in 11g - Listening Delivery channel
By Ramesh Nittur Anantharamaiah on Jul 08, 2009
One of the most interesting feature in 11g is Listening Delivery channel i.e the listening end point which can be activated and Deactivated with out affecting the status of the Agreement. Hence the listening DC are not targeted for any end point(trading partner) or application and not part of the Agreement.
This will address the life cycle challenges of 10g where in there is a need to Redeploy/create/quese the agreement for a change in the end point or adding a new end point or stop listening from an end point. Almost all the end points of various transport are considered listening end points except HTTP transport.
In case the destination Trading partner or Application is down, messages can be processed by creating and activating a listening DC.
1. IS TCP End points considered Listening DC.
TCP End points are also considered as Listening DC except that they are part of the agreement thereby enabling the user to dynamically activate/Deactivate the same. More details can be found in 'What do i like Most in 11g - HL7 Offering' , which will be published soon.
For details on how to configure Listening Delivery channel refer "14 Configuring Listening Channels" in the B2B user guide.
