What do i like Most in 11g - Intutive UI

The UserInterface of B2B has taken a new avatar in 11g compared to its predessor, which is very intutive in nature considering various usage.

This design is very much in line with the natural flow of thought about any B2B application. As any B2B application is about exchanging a document , with a tradingpartner which adhears to few of the agreed agreements. In similar lines, the broad categories are :

  1. Document management

  2. Trading partner management

  3. Agreement management

Document management:

The document management allows to define various document for the enterprise, which can be used exchange with any tradingpartner of interest. This is a one time activity, and is not associated with any of the exchange protocols. The same document can be exchanged with any of the exchanges with any of the trading partners. This is also very intutive in nature, where any document of interest will have a document revision and a document Type before defining the document definition. Document definition for any Document has to be defined as Admin user and made used in the Trading partner for overriding further.

Trading partner management:

When a document to be exchanged with tradingpartner, the primary step to be followed is to tag the already created document along with tradingpartner (of course with trading partner contact and Identifier) and the exchange protocol using which the document to be sent across. The identifiers indicate the way in which the tradingpartner to be recognised and the exchange encapsulates the way in which the document is packaged and sent across using transport.

Agreement management:

With the document being defined and associated with the tradingpartner of interest, the last part is to create & validate the agreement to be able to exchange the messages. Unlike in 10g where the deployment unit is configuration, agreement is considered as a deployment unit in 11g.

Along with this, the B2B user Interface has also made very simple for:

Resubmit functionality:

Now, resubmitting of message has been made easy by click of a button. A message can be resubmitted to:

  • Trading partner

  • Back end application.

This can be done en=ither by selecting the wiremessage/app message of interest... OR ... selecting the business message of interest and opting for resubmissin of wither wiremessage/businessmessage

EDI Batching:

The new look user interfact for EDI bactching gives the flexibility to create and manage the EDI Batching. The EDI batch creation can be created in 2 steps

  • Schedule the batch time : This can be a one-time batching or a repetitive batch. An eacily configurable one does not require to calculate the re-occurance duration for repeated batch

  • Active Agreement selection : Only EDIFACT/X12 active agreements will be populated for batching

The managing of EDI batching
1. Provides the flexibility to enable/disable
2. View the available batch activity
