Announcing Oracle Private Appliance Cloud Native Environment Software Release 1.2

Oracle is pleased to announce the release of the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance Cloud Native Environment 1.2, an integrated cloud native environment for the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance and Oracle Private Cloud at Customer.

Oracle Private Cloud Appliance Cloud Native Environment is a software-only release that closely aligns with the Oracle Linux Cloud Native Environment . The Oracle Linux Cloud Native Environment is an integrated suite of software components for the development and management of cloud native application based on the Cloud Native Computing Foundation and Open Container Initiative standards.

Oracle Private Cloud Appliance Cloud Native Environment integrates Oracle Linux Cloud Native Environment to deliver a simplified framework for installations, updates, upgrades, and configuration of key features for orchestration and deployment of  applications in containers in a micro-services model. It was first introduced with the September 2020 Oracle Private Cloud Appliance /Private Cloud at Customer 2.4.3 release.

  • Oracle Private Cloud Appliance Cloud native Environment enables a DevOps model and accelerates application modernization strategies for organizations.

  • Oracle Private Cloud Appliance Cloud Native Environment delivers a cloud native framework with container runtime environment for application development and Kubernetes for container orchestration (for more information on Cloud Native Technologies).

  • Support for Oracle Private Cloud Appliance Cloud Native Environment helps to automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications on Oracle Private Cloud Appliance and Oracle Private Cloud @ Customer.

  • Containers enable micro-services based applications to move easily between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, private, and hybrid clouds.

  • Wizards in Oracle Enterprise Manager take input from the user to create a Kubernetes master, VMs, networks, and storage for simplified container deployment.

  • Enterprise workloads can run alongside cloud native applications to support a variety of application requirements.
