Upgrade From Oracle Forms 10g  to Oracle Forms 11g

Description

This FREE workshop empowers partners with the technical knowledge and hands-on experience required to upgrade Oracle Forms 10g applications to Oracle Forms 11g. It is held as a live upgrade event during which the attendees/partners will work to upgrade their own application(s) to Oracle Forms 11g.

The workshop presents new features & architecture that Forms11g provides.

Objectives

  • Acquire a clear upgrade methodology, including upgrade issues and alternative solutions for no longer supported features
  • Be able to take advantage of the Forms11g features
  • In depth look at Forms11g Installation/Configuration/Deployment within the Oracle FMW 11g platform
  • Leave the workshop with their application the 1st phase of the upgrade already done and armed with the information, which they require to finish off the upgrade.
  • Complete the initial phase of the application upgrade, and gather the information needed to finish the upgrade
  • Embrace Java (and Java based technologies) Integration with forms

Prerequisites

  • Knowledge of the Oracle Forms development environment
  • Basic knowledge of the Oracle database
  • Basic knowledge of the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g platform and WebLogic Server

Hardware/Software Requirements

The partner will need to bring laptops with the following software installed:

Laptop/PC with minimum 4GB RAM

  • An Oracle Database containing a fully populated test schema for the application to be upgraded
    • Oracle 10.2.0.4+
    • Oracle 11.1.0.7+
    • Oracle 11.2.0.1+
  • A working installation of the current application is also required

A download of the following products: Installation will be done during the workshop
