Try Installing Oracle On Track This Week!
By joshlannin on Apr 18, 2011
By following the resources described in this post, you can be running a local On Track server in a few hours, enabling you to try out the product with your team. On Track was designed not only to run in large scale enterprise environments, the server can be rapidly installed and run ‘under the desk’. Once installed you can then evaluate the out of the box user experience and if desired develop custom extensions into your existing applications, Portals, and Content Management Systems.
A minimum configuration of On Track can be done on single desktop class machine with 2GB of RAM, including the required components of On Track which are the Oracle Database Enterprise Edition and WebLogic Server. For a more production ready system or running in a VM we recommend 4GB of memory with a multi-core machine, or separating out the database to a separate machine.
