Sun is proud to announce that the Solaris 10 5/08 release has passed
through the Common Criteria process. The independently-tested Common
Criteria process is recognized world-wide by governments and
security-conscious customers as the Gold standard and green light for
production deployments. The testing for Solaris 10 included both SPARC
and x86 architectures in a mix of environments, with full naming
services, GUI management and virtualized guests.
Specifically, Solaris 5/08 has undergone the Assurance Continuity process for Controlled Access Protection Profile and Role Based Access Control Protection Profile at Evaluation Assurance Level 4+. Sun is also committed to certifying Solaris 10 5/08 against the Labeled Security Protection Profile in the near future.
