A Busy Weekend for OpenSolaris at Linux Conferences

There are (at least) 2 big Linux conferences this weekend, the Ontario Linux Fest and the Florida Linux Show. The good news is that you'll find OpenSolaris represented at both of them. In Ontario Canada, Toronto OpenSolaris User Group leader Steven Acres will deliver Why OpenSolaris? In Orlando, Florida, I'll be delivering What's So Cool About OpenSoalaris Anyhow?

If you happen to be nearby (or willing to travel), please stop by and say hello.

OpenSolaris Conference in Szczecin, Poland

I am going to speak at the OpenSolaris conference in Szczecin, Poland. The conference is organized by Polish OpenSolaris User Group and you can find more information about this conference on the conference website. This conference should be not only interesting for people from Poland, but also for people from Germany - Szczecin seems to be a 1.5 hour drive from Berlin! There will be many good sessions on various topics, including SMF, Zones, OpenSolaris for developers, security, network virtualization, clustering, resource management and more. My presentation will be about 2008.05 and 2008.11 and some of the exciting features of OpenSolaris such as ZFS and DTrace including many demos (e.g. working with snapshots, how to replace a broken disk in a RAID with ZFS, etc.). I am also going to provide tips how to "gain control" of IPS and NWAM, two pieces of OpenSolaris which are still quite new and may require some hacking. So I hope to see some of you in Poland and hope to drink some beer with members of Polish OpenSolaris User Group and other OpenSolaris enthusiasts!
