We're excited to announce our third Release Update for Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5! Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c Release 5 Update 3 (13.5.0.3), RU3 for short, is now available for download from My Oracle Support > Patches & Updates.
If you are new to the Enterprise Manager world you may find this information useful: Release Updates (RUs) enable us to roll out new features and bug fixes quickly so you don't have to wait for a new major release. Release Updates are versioned using a trailing digit indicating the RU version and are cumulative, which means that the most recent RU includes functionality from all previous Release Updates. Our general recommendation is to apply the most current Release Update as soon as possible.
This update of EM 13.5 introduces another set of new features designed to enhance the value and the overall customer experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager. Here is a list of a few of these new features:
Enterprise Manager now provides a set of compliance standards and associated controls for the health monitoring of Exadata Systems. These sets of standards are built on data provided by the Oracle Autonomous Health Framework (AHF) EXAchk for Exadata Engineered Systems X8 and X8M.
The recently introduced EM Dashboards allow you to visualize monitoring and management data in real time and simplify potential problems resolution. With RU3, we are adding to the existing set of out-of-the-box dashboards with the "Federation Summary – By Sites" and "Federation Summary – By Groups" dashboards. These dashboards provide an easy way to view consolidated data from multiple EM sites.
RU3 continues to simplify the management of Oracle Autonomous Databases. You can now store database user credentials as a database object in an Autonomous Database, view the default and custom-created directories in an Autonomous Database, create a database link from Autonomous Databases – Shared discovered in Enterprise Manager to a target database, and view a list of backups for an Autonomous Database, schedule an on-demand backup, or restore a database from a backup.
RU3 added new support for the popular mobile version of Oracle Enterprise Manager, "Enterprise Manager Mobile". A set of new features were introduced with Enterprise Manager Mobile 1.4 and released recently on the App Store® (for Apple mobile devices) and Google Play (for Android mobile devices). Among the new features in the mobile version are: support for Dashboards, group filtering, and direct linking from email notifications to the Incident Management interface. The "on the go" management of your systems just got easier with EM Mobile 1.4!
Many other components were enhanced in this release. For more details on the key enhancements and new certifications with all EM 13.5 Release Updates, see:
