We're excited to announce our ninth monthly Release Update!

Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c Release 4 Update 9 (, RU9 for short, is now available for download from My Oracle Support > Patches & Updates.

Release Updates Details

Release Updates (RUs) are a way to roll out new EM features and bug fixes quickly, without waiting for a major release. Release Updates are versioned with a trailing digit indicating the RU version. Note that RUs are cumulative, which means that the most recent RU includes functionality from all previous release updates.  Our general recommendation is to apply the most current Release Update as soon as possible.

Key Updates in RU9

Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.4 RU9 introduces support for Single Instance patching on Windows (using Fleet Maintenance), support for SCAP compliance standards, new capabilities for compliance violations reporting, additions to RAC monitoring and IaaS Self Service Portal,  as well as multiple enhancements to the engineered systems support.

Here are the RU9 highlights:

Fleet Maintenance Single Instance Patching:  Single Instance patching using Fleet Maintenance is now supported on the Windows platforms.  Single Instance operations on Windows include deploy, migrate, update, upgrade and/or rollback of patches.

SCAP Compliance Standards: The compliance management capabilities now allow you to define and manage secure configurations for Linux hosts.  Eight out-of-the-box Standard Profiles are supported on Oracle Linux 7 and 8.

Compliance Dashboard Violations Reports for Multiple Targets: Administrators can now access violation reports for multiple targets and multiple standards directly from the Compliance Dashboard. The reports are in HTML format and can also be saved as a single file for easy sharing.

RAC Instance Status Display Option:  The number and status of Pluggable Databases part of Oracle Real Application Cluster databases are now displayed on the PDB Home page.

New  Kubernetes Clusters in the IaaS Self Service Portal:  You can now view Kubernetes Clusters in the IaaS Self Service Portal and perform a few new operations against these types of targets, such as add/remove new node pools and scale up/down clusters.

Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliances Backup Configuration Using EM CLI:   You can use the new EM CLI sub-command -configureBackupToRA to schedule an Oracle Enterprise Manager deployment procedure that processes multiple databases and configures each to send backups to a designated Recovery Appliance. The command also enables redo transport to the Recovery Appliance either from individual databases or from within a Data Guard broker configuration.

Exadata Database Machine Enhancements:   You can now convert Exadata Database Machine 12c type targets to version 13c targets, using EM CLI.  In addition, you can now promote Compute Node ILOM targets with REST access points, in addition to SSH access points.
