During Oracle CloudWorld, you can discover first-hand how to automate and scale your most critical database management activities.  The following Enterprise Manager(EM) CloudWorld hands-on-labs are designed to demonstrate the tips and tricks you need to quickly and efficiently migrate to multitenant databases, secure your assets through continuous monitoring, and automate repetitive tasks.

Hand-on labs can only host a limited number of participants so be sure to click "Add to Schedule" now if you want to participate and make sure to be on time.

Hybrid Multitenant Database Lifecycle Management [HOL4061]

This hands-on lab shows how to automate and scale lifecycle management of Oracle Multitenant databases across your hybrid enterprise. We begin by addressing a development request for a pluggable database (PDB) for testing purposes and then performing daily database lifecycle operations like creating clones and unplugging. Gain an understanding of how you can quickly provision, resize, and even delete PDBs using Oracle Enterprise Manager self service capabilities. Wednesday, Oct 19 | 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM PDT

Set Up and Automate Repeatable Database Upgrades [HOL4073]

This hands-on lab lets you set up and perform centralized, automated, and monitored upgrades for hundreds to thousands of Oracle Database instances of varying versions and configurations. Take this opportunity to use the Fleet Maintenance UI capability in Oracle Enterprise Manager and run the four-step process for database upgrades: scan to understand the database estate in its current form, create a new image and subscribe, push out the new image, and switch over to it. Wednesday, Oct 19 | 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM PDT

Set Up Centralized and Automated Patching for Secure, Compliant Databases [HOL4074]

A DBA is only able to patch a finite number of databases using native database utilities, yet is responsible for keeping all the databases in their realm secure. This hands-on lab shows how to set up and perform centralized and automated patching for hundreds to thousands of Oracle Database instances using the Database Lifecycle Management capability in Oracle Enterprise Manager. Thursday, Oct 20 | 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM PDT

Hybrid Database Configuration and Compliance Management [HOL4072]

This hands-on lab shows how to check, verify, and secure your database configurations—and how to automate them to be compliant with industry and regulatory standards like CIS and STIG. Understand how to control configuration drift by monitoring it against a baseline to ensure each database is secure. See how to use Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuration and Compliance Management capabilities to get an inventory of all managed database targets—including different versions and the number of instances deployed over a period of time. Wednesday, Oct 19 | 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM PDT

Migrate Oracle Database Instances with Safety Net Using Migration Workbench [HOL4076]

With so many ways to migrate Oracle Database instances, it always helps to have expert guidance and a fallback plan. This workshop teaches how to migrate on-premises databases to Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle Database Cloud Services (Exadata Cloud@Customer, Exadata Database Service, bare metal, or virtual machine), and Exadata. See how to use Enterprise Manager Migration Workbench to evaluate the migration readiness of your databases, migrate them securely while reducing the risk of human error, and automatically validate the performance of migrated databases. Thursday, Oct 20 | 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM PDT.
