Operations Insights (OPSI) provides capacity planning, long-term SQL analysis, and historical performance reports for your Oracle databases. The service provides a full offering of features to improve performance and reduce resource overhead. The ability to quickly and easily ingest valuable metric data enables administrators, engineers, and executives to make informed decisions.  Allocating resources to prevent major issues and reduce overhead to manage their infrastructure resources can be done with minimal effort. With the new demo mode for Operations Insights, you can experience the service's value with minimal effort. A policy to enable cross-tenancy data access is the only requirement to begin using the new OPSI demo mode in your own tenancy.

Get started by enabling OCI Operations Insights demo mode

Navigate in the cloud console to the OPSI overview page and click on the enable demo mode button.

Once demo mode is enabled, a policy is created to allow read-only access to the demo tenancy's data. It may take up to 1 or 2 minutes for the policy to allow data access across the tenancies.  If you receive authorization errors, refresh the page until they have cleared or engage an administrator or user with elevated privileges to create the policy.

Once the mode is enabled, the overview page will show resource information for the Operations Insights compartment, notice the upper-right hand corner shows demo mode is now on for the session.  When exiting demo mode, click the disable link in the corner or click the now present "Disable Demo Mode" button where it was initially enabled on the overview page.
