We've set our code free!

The Common Agent Container has been set free!

I'm very pleased to announce the availability of the Common Agent Container open-source project as the first piece of the larger goal of open-sourcing the xVM project

Want to know what it is? Read a little more in my last blog article, or follow the links below for detailed information...

The Common Agent Container project is released under the GNU General Public License v3 with the ClassPath exception and is hosted on Java.NET at the following URL:

https://common-agent-container.dev.java.net

This website is the main entry point for everything related to this project; once there, you can:

Please visit our project site and do not hesitate to send feedback (by clicking "Send Website Feedback" on the left panel).

See you there!

Comments:

Is there any near-term plan to integrate support for hosting CIM entities (e.g. CIM objects and classes) in the Common Agent Container (a la a CIMOM)?

Thanks.

Hi Nick,

There is a discussion going on at the open management consortium about whether it is possible to create/implement an "open agent." I have suggested people look at CAC, but I thought it would be very helpful for you to weigh in with more detail about how other open source systems and network management projects could thi9nk about leveraging CAC in this capacity. I see potential, but I lack the detailed technical knowledge to be able to make the case.
