NetBeans 6.9.1 is available and you can download it from our site. From PHP point of view it's an bug fix update to NetBeans IDE 6.9 and also it includes performance improvements.
As always, we welcome feedback about your experience using NetBeans.
So you finally fixed the auto-complete bug that made the IDE hang in 6.9? Great news!
However: you just can't beat the Blumenkübel with this one today.
@Tom: It depends which bug do you mean. There were bugs that went there, but some bugs are fixed only in the dev build. It depends on the process. NB 6.9.1 was only in "hiresistance" patch mode.
Nice work. Netbeans is far and away the best PHP IDE and I've tried them all. Keep the good things coming.
@Petr I checked the release notes and found the bug on the list of fixes included in NetBeans 6.9.1 - haven't tested it though.
after auto-updating in netbeans 6.9, application stopped working. i had to unistall it and install new download version from web.
Well, I hope that 6.9.1 will be at least as stable as 6.8 and a at least a little bit more powerfull. I have to say, that the 6.9 bugs were rendering the 6.9 absolutely useless for any PHP development (amateur or professional), so I had to keep using the great 6.8
To dr.micro:Have your reported those bugs?
Great release, it's now even faster :-) Unfortunately, the icon is broken on Windows 7.
Is there a fast and easy way to upgrade netbeans 6.9 to 6.9.1 which doesn't involve downloading and installing a separate version?
Upgraded 6.9 to 6.9.1 - fonts changed, now letters is bold with blur effect. Can I turn it off, or somehow use same fonts as was 6.9? Using Mac OS X.
Unfurtunately I still keep experience errors in using auto completition and code formating. It's always "OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space". I've sent a lot of reports since version 6.9 even from many DEV versions, but still nothing changed. It makes me to stay with 6.8, in which everything is OK.
I guess OutOfMemory is irrelevant to PHP-module, but with standard java-module tool. NetBeans 6.9.\* is actually broken.
It still takes ages to scan a project and the worst part is that while waiting it to scan I can't rename a file. When I right click -> refactor->rename it just freezes and does nothing (consuming 24% CPU....)
6.9 and 6.9.1 are such big fail for me...
Unfortunately this bug remains..
I have the feeling that this bug here is related somehow to the php editor...when I close all php projects then everything is fine. When I open one and work in it for several minutes then the CPU goes crazy...http://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=189477
To Raazy:FYI #188160 was fixed
To Daniel Dimitrov:#189477 according to snapshots I didn't find any problem caused directly by php support. Task Manager and Recursive Listener looks like the most time consuming tasks, closing "Tasks Window" and disabling "Copy Support" in php project could lead to better performance - definitely its worth of trying to know more. By the way I'm not able to reproduce, so if you have any steps how to reproduce or at least you have some indices that its really php support's problem then please don't hesitate and report is as php problem. Thanks
I would REALLY like to see: 187438 And 187778 resolved. I did a little digging and I guess these, (same issues under other bug numbers) have been there for ages - like WAY back? These seem really basic things an IDE should support.
Over all though, I love this IDE still more than any other! Thanks!
To jmcbade:#187438, #187778 were reassigned to other netbeans components (not issues in php support)
To Radek:Thanks much for fixing it. Can you please look at this?https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=188229
I feel desperate with this.Running the same project on netbeans 6.8 - the scan takes around 5 to 10minutes.With netbeans 6.9, 6.9.1 the scan takes ages - I opened the project 1h and 15mins ago and it is still scanning. With 6.10 M1 - the same thing happens. And it is not only that it takes ages to scan the project, but when it is done, it suddenly decides to use half of the CPU...
Please tell me what I have to do to provide you with meaningful information that can identify the problem. I can even zip and send you the project I work on if you wish.
if you can send me the project, it would be the best think. It would be great, if we can reproduce it.
How can I contact you? E-Mail or PM?Daniel
To Daniel: I'm sorry, I had a vacation. You can send me the project on email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
go to project properties and change test folder. On Linux it is defalut set to use ~/ directory. And it takes ages to scan whole home directory.
B.t.w NB6.10 works much slower than 6.8 and 6.9.1, becouse it supports css scanning. It it excellent idea but works slow.
My netbeans 6.8 stills says there are no updates available.
