Toggling Comments

Hi all! New month is here and we are here too with a new blog post about toggling comments feature for next NetBeans release.

Toggle comment (ctrl+shift+c or ctrl+/) is a well known feature so what is new in here? Now it's supported in many new languages! Now you can toggle in Apache configuration files, INI files, Neon files and in Twig files as well.

And for Twig files we provide some speciality - you can set an option what and how to comment. It's the same option as it's for Smarty templates. So enjoy!

And that's all for today and as usual, please test it and if you find something strange, don't hesitate to file a new issue (product php, component Apache Conf / Neon / Twig / INI). Thanks a lot!

Comments:

Very nice feature... I already wait so long for that :-)
But I don't understand the "language sensitive" option for Twig comments. What will that do if activated?

Please add support for inline comments in YAML files, too. If you write something like this (without the ">" sign)
> Meeeee: #comment
> blablubb

The "#comment" is not shown in the color of comments :-/

Hi,

language sensitive means, that if you have a line, which combines html and twig syntax, i.e.:

<div>{% something %}</div>

so then if you invoke Toggle action, when your caret is "inside" a twig part, then just twig part will be commented by twig comment style, but if you have a caret inside a DIV tag, then it will be commented by HTML comment.

What version/release of Netbeans will be this functionality ?

In that version of Netbeans?
I download/install 7.3.1 today and nothing about it.

7.3.1 is just patch of 7.3. Next release will be 7.4 (beta in a few days).
