NetBeans IDE 6.5 is available

Today NetBeans 6.5 has been released. The main page at NetBeans.org site was changed and point out that the new release can be downloaded. I have mentioned many times that NetBeans 6.5 is the first release of NetBeans which supports the PHP development.

Although the support for developing PHP applications is new and young, I hope that it will be useful for many PHP developers and for the PHP community too. I would like to say thanks to all people who contribute to this release and also thanks to you, who provides any feedback here or on the users@php.netbeans.org mailing list.

We did the first step. In front of us there is long way to fit as much as possible, what you need as a PHP developer. This first version was influeced by your requests and suggestions and I hope that we will continue in this cooperation and that the community around this PHP support will grow. Thanks.

So, now nightly builds are based on 7.0 branch?

To Michal,

yes, you are right. The nightly builds are basically 7.0.

Petr

I'm really thankfull for the NetBeans IDE. It has helped me with my web developments in so many ways. I've even used it to help develop my Rich Ajax Application (Raxan) Framework (http://xwisdomhtml.com/raxan).

There's still alot of features that I think can be added but so far it's very impressive.

Hi Petr,
There seems to be a problem with the Javascript Parsing. Every now and again the IDE will indicate a "synatx error" or a "missing ; before statement" message but nothing is wrong with the syntax.

Congrats on the release! Thanks for all the hard work.

Hi Raymond,

the best thing, what we can do with this is file new issue against javascript editor and attach a screenshot or the code, where you run into this problem.

Thanks,
Petr

I'm sorry, Netbean for PHP not yet have refactoring feature?

thx

Hi Agus,

I'm sorry, there wasn't time to implement rich refactoring features. There are only instant rename and find usages. Some refactoring features we want to add into next version.

Thanks,
Petr

Well done on the 6.5 release guys. I've upgraded from my previous nightly build to 6.5 and it's great.

I look forward to testing nightly builds again in the near future though ;-)

Petr,

Sorry for the delay.

However, I congratulate the team for the release and thank them for their support during NetCAT 6.5, specifically for editor hyperlinks and documentations!

Thanks :)
