Git Support - Available on UC

In the previous post I wrote about possibility of Git support in NetBeans. The team that implements it got valuable feedback from php users and now is available a version of this support on development update center. You can install it in a development build through plugin manager.

I hope that the plugin will satisfy what you need. The plugin is still under active development, but should be usable and if something doesn't fit your needs, please report it in our bugzilla.

That's fantastic news, I'll be testing it out a lot during the next few days.

Woohoo! Great news!

This is a good move forward. I am looking for the completion of and publishing of the final version of Netbeans 7.0.

Can't find it in the UC, do I need some NB beta version?

Posted by Frank Capone on November 19, 2010 at 06:40 AM CET #

Installed the 7.0.beta this morning in hope that it might be an enhanced 6.9.dev but sadly it does not have the git plugin. Otherwise, the beta is a welcome step forward. Without the git support, however, it looks I'll keep using the dev build.

Not that I do my actual git interaction within NB. I use TortoiseGIT for quick and easy local/remote updates. However, having those 'git-aware' file change cues, etc., in the project tree is a welcome enhancement.

You need dev build of NB 7.0 or a beta to see the Git support on UC.

Hi Petr,

I see (and happily use) git in the dev build but it is nowhere to be seen (as far as I can find) in the 7.0 beta.

I regularly check for an update on the beta but don't see any. In the meantime, I continue to use the dev build (not sure if it is considered 6.9.x+ or 7.0 era).

@Petr - Same as DropaBalm here. Can't see it in Beta.

K. Regards,

That's good news!
Is a Git Hub Support planned for the future too? If not, would be nice if it is.
Thanks for your attention, and sorry for my bad English, I'm form Germany...
