7.1 almost here... you have to be kidding me. Dropping features like CVS makes it next to completely useless.

It's said that we can find the plugin somewhere but I must say it's well hidden.

Why would such a core feature be dropped ?

Nigel, CVS is being replaced by newer versioning systems. Our statistics show that the number of users using CVS is declining. After adding Hg and Git we think this area is well covered especially for the future. With limited resources we must choose what to support and what not.

BTW when you open a project from your local CVS checkout the IDE will ask you to install the CVS plugin from the Update Center automatically.

Hello Nigel,

I have just checked this and CVS is available on the Certified Plugins Update Center [1]. The most probable reason why you don't see it in the "Available Plugins" tab of Plugins manager is that you already have it installed. In order to verify this please switch to "Installed" tab, check "Show details" option and type "CVS" into "Search" field.

If you don't see it, please give it another try with empty userdir. If it still does not work, let me please know what NetBeans 7.1 build you are using and what is URL of the Certified Plugins Update Center.

Thanks for your feedback!

Why the persistence management cannot use a tool like Dali ? The Jpa controllers are fixed ! May be on next release to use a template to change it.

Hello Maurizio, The best way to let the NetBeans team know about features or support you would like to see in the NetBeans IDE is to file an enhancement request: http://netbeans.org/community/issues.html. You can also search to see if others have made a similar request and can vote on this to increase its priority.
