The Future of Cloud Data Center
By mwidjaja on Jan 15, 2014
I often dream of a push button deployment and provisioning of massive racks consisting rows of systems that can just run, no manual intervention needed, no cabling/wiring, no troubleshooting. Turn it on, and voila! it automatically configures everything up from scratch, all the way including all the networking setup, storage, virtualization, OS, to the application.
Now, that will not only save time and energy, but also enables consistency across data center administration, architectural planning, and just operation in general. In the end it affects the bottom line.
OVCA brings that 0-maintenance, low-cost IaaS appliance, push-button Cloud provisioning to reality. Our first customer had a very successful deployment of OVCA and that's only the beginning. They are happily running virtual machines images now in their DCs, with very minimal intervention. OVCA together with OVMM run as a daemon to monitor and control all the VM related activities, including detecting new hardware, migrating VMs and balancing VMs in the VM server pool, and so on and so forth.
It's just way cool! Most importantly, it just WORKS.
I am new in this group, but I've been impressed with the product that's relatively young. This is going to really change the way Cloud companies do business.
