I am a Principal Engineer based in the Sun Guillemont Park Campus in the U.K.
My main interests are in the datacentre space specifically around deployment. I am one of the co-authors of JET, and most of my blog is about that.
I am also a bit of a Solaris bigot, and have been running Solaris on my x86 laptop for the past 8 years. I've written a couple of utilities to make doing that easier, and am always willing to help anyone over the initial hurdle of getting Solaris installed and running properly.
Finally, I grew up in the Caribbean where I used to sail extensively, used to own half of an 8 metre B wooden sailing boat (38', 3/4 rig, deep keel, built in 1908 in Scotland, rebuilt twice before I got hold of it). 8 Metre Web site. I've just (after 17 years of not sailing) bought a Laser 2000 which I am learning the finer points of asymmetric spinnaker sailing with, and is so very very different from the previous boat!
