ADF Mobile Application in the Apple AppStore

Hi, everyone:

I would like to announce that there is now an iPhone App in the Apple AppStore that's built using Oracle ADF Mobile.  This app is the Hudson Mobile Monitor application for the iPhone, which allows you to monitor build status for the Hudson Continuous Integration server.  By default it points to the production instance of the Hudson CI server hosted at Oracle.  One of the key goals for ADF Mobile in general is to ensure an application built using ADF Mobile is compliant with Apple iOS SDK terms.  We designed the framework to ensure applications can go through the approval process - of course there are still things that can be done which would cause issues during the approval process, and we will be publishing more best practices in the coming articles.

Thanks,

ADF Mobile Product Management Team.
Comments:

Congratulations on producing this framework andgetting the first app out there. The promise of ADF mobile technology is certainly compelling. However, one thing that is detering us from allocating resource to evaluate this approach to mobile development further is the terrible reviews this app is getting in both the Google Play and Apple iTunes stores.

Do you believe the issues reported are real/reproducible?
If so have you done any work to address them?

I have deployed the app to both Android (JellyBean) and iPhone (iOS6) and have not experienced the blank screens and crashes reported. However, we have noted that the labels are truncated and the text and icons are much bigger than rendered for native apps. While relatively minor it does make the app look less professional.

Looks great! As a Java developer and iPhone owner I look forward to downloading the Hudson Monitor and investigating ADF Mobile itself.

I've been hoping for a framework like this to appear for years!

To Troup: There has only been a single review in iOS that happened to report an issue. This seems it would be an issue with the app itself and would not be indicative of a problem in the framework.

Hello,
I´ve tried Hudson Monitor on my iphone and it works fine!
I'd like to test on my Android but i couldn´t find on Google Play.
Is there an Android version? If so can you send me the link to the store.

Tks
