What changed since the last snapshot?

Matthew Lee Hinman posted a perl script for automatically showing differences in files between the 'current' filesystem and any given snapshot. Looks rather handy.

Snapshot Creation Time

Over at the BigAdmin site, they have a number of nifty tips, tricks, and scripts that people have been submitting. See the "Resources and Sections" banner, and click on, for example, Scripts.

One of the scripts that caught my eye, of course, was the ZFS Snapshot Creation script. It loops over each of the snapshots every pool (using zfs list) and retrieves the snapshot creation timestamp (using zfs get).

Please consider this one-liner as an alternative:

zfs get -H -o name,value creation `zfs list -H -o name -t snapshot`

No grep, no awk, and only two zfs execs.
