The IP Multipathing (IPMP) feature has been re-designed in Oracle Solaris 11 and has a new conceptual model. For example, you'll get a new separate IPMP interface that will keep all the configured data IP address(es). As the IPMP configuration is no longer done by the ifconfig command and /etc/hostname.<intf> files but mainly by the new ipadm command, the configuration steps are different to pre-Solaris 11. Hence I did wrote a new knowledge document Transitioning From Solaris 10 IP Multipathing (IPMP) to Oracle Solaris 11 IPMP that will hopefully help to do any transitions of exiting Solaris 10 IPMP configurations to Solaris 11.
