Slides from JavaOne BOF
By Martin Grebac on Oct 11, 2011
I promised to post slides from my JavaOne 2011 databinding related BOF "Best Practices for XML/Schema Databinding with JAXB" which covers the topic about designing schemas in such a way that they play well with databinding frameworks (not only JAXB, not only Java). You know, trying to make my work easier ;O). But also work of others who always need to work with schemas out there using databinding framework of their choice.
So here are the slides: JAXB-BestPractices.pdf. And here's Dustin's recap on how did the BOF go.
Actually, I originally expected this to have less people (250 - 300 people showed up), be more interactive (like one would expect from a BOF setup) and have more discussion as I wanted to hear more opinions on the topic, but with so many people in the room and with so loud audience next door (JavaPosse) it was impossible to go this path. I started reworking the approach and the slides when I realized so many people pre-registered (which was on Friday) so at the end it is more like a technical session with a set of recommendations to follow to ease the path for consumers of your schemas.
